This is a very good and interesting three part series on what the title suggests. It's fair, educational and engaging. You won't be disappointed should you choose to watch. .

Richard Dawkins: Sex, Death and The Meaning Of Life
The problem I have with Richard Dawkins is twofold - he is a very boring writer and very boring as a presenter. Can't explain exactly why I find him so but I so.

Bit ironic considering it is a british TV programme. Think I saw bits of it when it as actually on and I look at his website occasionally so i think I have a fairly good idea of his viewpoint but I can't really comment on the documentary itself . I don't entirely agree with him on some things selfish gene theory for instance. I haven't read the god delusion because having browsed through it I decided it was going to inform me of anything I was not aware of and the style of writing puts me off. I decided belief in god was a delusion when I was a teenager all that has happened since is I can better articulate the reasons why I think that. I adhere to the viewpoint that if you cannot explain why you think an particular way about something you don't have an opinion but are repeating what you have heard. To be an atheist does not mean you have to believe in or adopt a certain way of thinking it quite simply means you have decided there is no supreme over being.
I find him boring quire frankly. I do think religion is a baleful influence but so is fanatical adherence to a political doctrine but at least political nutters don't take delight in the prospect of you going to hell.
