Less Than a Month To Xmas Day.

Post by jones jones »

Ah! Tis the season to be jolly!

I'm no bah humbug Scrooge! But I do not enjoy this time of year. I guess its because I only had five ... maybe six enjoyable Christmas times as a child. My mother Lola died a month after Christmas day ... she was only 46 years old ... I only 11 years old. :-1

I think Christmas is a great time for kids. I mean ask any young boy or girl what was the best time of their life so far & I bet most of them will mention a certain Christmas holiday time. :-6

But for the rest ... well I don't enjoy the festive period. Earthlings drink way too much, they drive way too fast and they excuse their behavior by saying "It's Xmas!!" :driving:

I close my business on 21 December every year and I can't wait for those three weeks of holiday to end. :-5

I so wish I was a kid again so I could enjoy Christmas!!! :guitarist

C'Mas is for kids - I wish I was a kid again so C'mas could be fun.

I enjoy C'mas - but there's no anticipation & silly joy.

I'm sorry to hear your Mothers death has scared the Holiday

My Father also died @ C'mas.

Take Care

So sorry about your Mom Jones.. To lose her at 11 years old Is heartbreaking. My Sister died of breast cancer and left three young children so i know It's something that hurts all the time and big time even when your grown.

Peter and I are not drinkers per say but we always have Champagne with our Christmas dinner. I have as many bottles of Bailey's Irish Cream as I can stomach over Christmas with some Port with my Stilton cheese.

I usually start preparing for what I am going to cook and bake around this date. We have a full Turkey dinner Christmas day but my favourite meal Is when i get home from the races on Boxing Day and we have cold cuts with pickles.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. R.L. Binyon
