The tax rate Is actually 58 p In the £ when you take Into account national Insurance.

It cripples business's leaving them with less to re-Invest and drives high earners over-sea's. Instead their money sits In off shore accounts Instead of UK banks which helps the economy.

The Lib Dems are actually campaigning for even higher taxes for the well off.

Since when did businesses pay the 50% tax rate?

We should take a leaf out of the US's book and make them liable for UK tax on all their income no matter what part of the world they are in.

You've fallen for that daft argument have you? Do some research on the UK tax system and find out for yourself the numerous ways the wealthy can avoid paying tax on their income.

It is believed that rich Britons moved abroad or took steps to avoid paying the new levy by reducing their taxable incomes.

It would appear these guys have done their homework you should as well.

The first act of Gordon Brown was to reduce the tax credit in penaion funds from 20% to 10%. He started taking money out of company and personal pensions to the tune of 5 billion a year, that's why so many company pension schemes have shut down if he was taking money out the company had to make up the shortfall, it also reduced the growth of personal pension funds. Osbourne has done nothing to redress the balance. Why are you not upset about that?

We also need to go after the likes of amazon and starbucks. If they won't pay UK tax then they can can piss off and let a british owned business take over. Amazon in particular are in danger of becoming a monopoly. Ubnless of course you tghink it OK for companies to make vast profits out of the UK taxpayers and not pay tax on any of it.

Happy birthday then old girl. Always remember men are like fine wine they mature with age women turn to vinegar. Grey hair is a sign of maturity in a man, old age in a women. Sucks I know bit I didn't make the rules. Once I had a six pack now I have a barrel such is life.

Happy belated birthday Oscar!:guitarist

I agree with the comments in this thread re: starbucks and amazon. I can't believe they are really allowed to get away with that. Then again, I can't believe a lot of the crap folks get away with here.
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6
