In there a thread pulling the back end of the cat in your sig?
It's the first time I've seen a cat crab out of control like that.

That didn't occur to me but it's possible. I figured it was just a crazy, uncoordinated kitten on a slippery countertop.

Looked to me like it was trying to get its reflection on the countertop
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Looks to me like the kitten needs to work on his spacial awareness skills, he did not know he was so close to edge because he was focused on the camera.

When they are young, they don't have the experience to know If It's friend or foe so young cats arch their backs to make themselves look bigger, then they walk sideways which to any animal Is non threatening. He's seeing his reflection In the work top and he's weighing up weather he needs to attack or not by walking sideways..... the work top Is slippery and he's fallen off because he's so busy looking at his reflection.... I had a kitten who used to do It when I had a glass dining table... It's all perfectly normal for a young cat.

Fair enough - just looks weird.
I'm not too used to kittens as we tend to inherit our cats.

They do grow out of It around 12 months old..... just to verify, I found this this on the web..... she calls It spidering.
"Spidering is an action which usually only lasts a short time during kitten hood. Kittens will arch their back on pointed toes and walk sideways at their littermates, or other things, which activate extreme periods of play. Every hair is sticking straight out and the spidering makes a kitten appear as though it were at least twice its real size."
