However, a heightened sense of paranoia could just kick in for a guy as sensitive as Jones is. Surely CNN has some idea what to expect from the guy (go look at any of his videos) - he goes off on a regular basis. Jones might not be necessarily obsessed with guns (though he clearly was at some point and now he admits his newest obsession is video games) but he's obsessed with right and wrong, which is a commonly shared obsession for Aspies.

But the security would want a guy such as this to know they were out in force so Jones tries to maintain some what of a calm demeanor.

Everywhere I go I see people with earpieces who are talking to someone using an electronic device, sometimes surreptitiously sometimes in a very loud voice. You even see them in supermarkets having meaningful conversations about fat free or not. How can you tell when it's someone reporting on you and following you or just someone on their phone? It's so commonplace now it must make life easy for surveillance unless people don't talk on their phone and walk at the same time in the US. Latest pedestrian hazard, number of times some pillock has walked in to me is unreal. I suppose the windcheaters and guns are a big give away.

The thing about conspiracy theories is they have their own kind of insane logic that's hard to counter.

Seems like you're sold that this guy is sincere. It's pretty obvious to me that he's a standard hack a la Jerry Springer and pro wrestlers that puts on the act that builds his audience and keeps the income flowing. I believe he could be just as passionate for gun control if he thought there was a big enough audience for it; he just chose the other audience to pander to.

eta: The same goes for the British guy.

It might be a good idea to listen a little harder and look a little closer. Jones gets himself embroiled in confrontation consistently. He's not acting, he becomes emotionally carried away easily. This is where it pays to be educated and open to the idea that not all people are alike. Our brains hold as much subtle and not so subtle differences as do our fingerprints. The NRA endorsed moderate gun control in the '20s and'30s and endorse the Gun Control Act of 1968. In 1977 there was a coup in the NRA and some of the more radical members took over.

When I first read your question was that it was only ten years and what is the effort would be to hopefully bring it to the USSC where the outcome would be not be at all certain. Also, the actual firearm wasn't made illegal, just scary looking cosmetics. It was almost worth it to hear the anti-gun nuts bitch and complain about "LOOP HOLES" of the law they drafted.

It was a lot better timing later to establish by the court that the right to bear arms was an individual right, not collective.

This is an interesting read, A Public Opinion Nightmare, which reminded me of when the House voted to repeal the ban.

Fails to realize that the gun lobby also consist of many, many people. Ordinary people...who are passionate about their rights and their beliefs. The press attempts to persuade people that just like "evil oil" and "big pharma", the gun lobby is a faceless, evil entity when it is made up of citizens standing by their beliefs.

The NRA is just one...of many organizations helping maintain the liberties of the citizen.

Oh and by the way, if there are big money and corporations involved, show me ANY lobby that doesn't have them. They have interests as well as any other entity on this earth. Those corporations are made up of people as well.
