Hi Marcus,

The site has had major problems in the past when people have used proxy servers to gain access to the site. We reached the point long ago where accounts are terminated here if proxy use persists. The problems relate mostly to impersonation and the disguising of identity. The policy is occasionally regretted but far easier to cope with than the consequence of allowing any exceptions.
