Obese in a Bikini

Post by Oscar Namechange »

Let's try a different angle here...

When I was a kid we holidayed In Devon twice a year. There was a woman on the beach every year who after raising her children all year wanted to feel the sun on her back and have a dip In the sea. She was In her late 40's and a little over-weight so the rolls of fat drooped over her Bikini bottoms. Her legs were covered with awful varicose viens and she was covered In stretch marks.

She was my Mum and despite the viens, the fat and the stretch marks, to me, my brothers and sister and my Father, she was the most beautiful and wonderful woman on that beach.

Had someone like your husband have glanced her disapproving looks we would have laughed and pitied him.

The over-weight woman on the beach that you find gross Is no doubt wealthier than those who have to turn away.... and I don't mean money.

I was referring to several obese woman on the beach - I didn't not state that all those large women were gross - did not say that - I stated the large - very large stretch marks were difficult to see - the marks were gross - not the woman/women so do not twist my opinion - or my husbands opinion.

I was referring to the confidence the obese women have .

The video of the large man in a speedo - he was walking proud

yet is it a vision or is it a sight for sore eyes.? same principle

Oscar and I are indulging in the traditional british pasttime of taking the piss out of each other. On this occasion oscar started it - she has never send me a picture and i haven't a clue what she looks like. As she herself would be the first to concede fantasy is often better than reality. Not so much a vision as a sight is a rather witty play on words which someomne like oscar can appreciate. We disagree quite a lot and trade insults occasionally it's actually all in good humour. As I said to my mother in law I can tell you're getting thinner you don't block out the light when you stand in front iof the window as much as you used to.

Taking the piss is a British term meaning to take liberties at the expense of others, or to be unreasonable. It is often used (or confused) with taking the piss out of which is an expression meaning to mock, tease, ridicule, or scoff.[1] It is also not to be confused with "taking a piss", which refers to the actual biological act of urinating. Taking the Mickey (Mickey Bliss, Cockney rhyming slang) or taking the Michael is another term for making fun of someone. These terms are most widely used in the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.

She's english I'm scots that alone leaves plenty of scope for friendly abuse.

The video is funny, it's an advert on british TV. Fat bloke walks across the screen not caring what people think and it's funny. Fat woman does it and it just wouldn't work. Presumably souithern comfort are trying to portray an image of a drink that appeals to self confident males. Must try it someday. is it any good?

Were there any fat blokes on the beach and if so were they worthy of comment?

Were they wearing lipstick?

Did they have footwear on ?

I didn't think the guy in the Southern Comfort vid looked that bad... at least not bad enough that I'd notice and make snarky comments about him on a forum if I had seen him in real life.

Don't know what color the bikini was - couldn't see it...

Snooze - Snarky comments - haven't seen any wit here.?

The confident over weight man in the video - yes, there are plenty of over weight men in speedos on beaches strutting in all their glory.

It seems over weight men in a speedo is more acceptable than a obese woman in a bikini.?

ones gross - ones funny

Or you were just looking for her faults?

Sorry Patsy but It seems when ever you write a thread you are attacking women somewhere somehow.

Even the Hilary Clinton thread, all you seemed Interested In was her dull skin, bad hair etc.

It kinds of gives one the Impression that you you either like attacking less than perfect looking women or that you just can't see beyond cosmetic appearance.

Something just occurred to me, no one is attacking me for saying I would look with 'horror', ok I admitted that after while I would just accept it, it's the norm nowadays after all but why is Patsy being attacked and not me?

Why is Patsy attacking women but Oscar is not attacking Patsy?? After all, Patsy's opinions may differ from some other peoples, but where is the fairness in all this? This isn't a discussion, its a poke poke poke at Patsy thread, just like the previous thread mentioned was.

Maybe the discussion should be why are some people turned off by fat people? Maybe it is because of what the media likes to present to us as examples of 'the perfect woman', and the 'perfect man' of course, these people aren't measuring up to societies ideal. Maybe it is the case that a lot of people keen on keeping their weight down and staying fit as they age see larger people as people that are just letting themselves go? Those ideas and others would be a far more productive discussion than what is currently going on in this thread.

Attacking - do you really want to go there Oscar?

Hillary thread - I know what I stated

this thread is obese women wearing a bikini - again a subject on women

I'm asking where do they get the confidence or the man in the video - where does he get his confidence?

a fat man in a speedo is funny - how? why is that funny?

less than perfect person - I stated I can't wear a bikini - could - but don't - modest

you & snooze feel the need to bombard me - it's not wit - dull

one could get the impression of bitter personality - jealous perhaps

again you didn't need to reply - put me on ignore since I bring out the best in you.

it's that simple

Believe me Patsy, I have nothing to be jealous or bitter of. I have a wonderful marraige, a loving family, and I'm happy In my own skin.

I also have many girlfriends....of all shapes and sizes who I don't judge because of age or the way they look.

We are not bombarding you. If you write a thread stating your husband finds women with stretch marks and fat gross then really what did you expect?

Take a good look at yourself here. All you see is women's personal appearances.....

I'm asking where do they get the confidence or the man in the video - where does he get his confidence?

a fat man in a speedo is funny - how? why is that funny?

It's simple you decide not to worry about the opinions of others. The man in the video is funny (imo at any rate) because he is not exactly good looking in the conventional sense but clearly thinks he is and is enjoying his strut. Medallion man with a paunch. .

People are more judgemental of women - it's a fact of life. I wouldn't find an obese women in a bikini offensive, some do, being male I would be more inclined to look, at a good looking one in a bikini but many also find them disturbing and offensive. I never understand people who go to a beach and complain about skimpy bathing costumes if it bothers you then don't go.

You are the one that brought the subject up maybe you should ask your husband why he finds it gross. It's his choice he can find it gross or he can decide it doesn't matter how people look. You can do the same - find it gross or decide if she doesn't worry I'm not going to either.

You live in a country where women can wear what they want and don't have to cover themselves from head to foot if only the beautiful people were allowed to wear bikinis it would be a shame.

I call foul play. Patsy has a history of starting threads like this that are guaranteed to annoy and provoke, and when they do, poor little Patsy screams that she's being bullied and admin gets involved. If she didn't want this negative attention then she should learn not to post this crap. And she certainly shouldn't be responding to someone that seems to upset her so much that admin hears her whimpers and comes charging to the rescue.

Whose fault is it if a poster has a history of inflammatory posts like this and certain members take offense? You poke the bear, you risk getting bitten.

what are you talking about?

I haven't spoken to any one..?

starting threads like this - it's a question thread and I very seldom start a thread.

Poke what bear? you & Oscar don't intimidate me

Perhaps you should speak to Admin. - again your way off course here.

Admin can read all & speak for themselves

And you don't have to reply to my thread - so cry elsewhere.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with either the thread topic or the op, although it's not my angle of discussion.

I think patsy was asking legitimate questions. Sometimes when we're not sure why we think a certain thing or feel a certain way we need to talk though it. Even if nobody had responded to the op, it might have been therapeutic for Patsy just to air the issue out.

Poor little Patsy has screemed to no-one. I have read through the thread and seen one member going well over the top in attacking another. A member has every right to make a point but there comes a point where it denys the other member the right to have an opinion at all unless they bow down to yours. This thread passed that point.

Had it been the first time I might have ignored it but a repeat performance stinks of an agenda.

Perhaps you're biased. I haven't seen Oscar "attack" anyone, she was actually very polite. I enjoyed the story about her mother. Oscar does reply back when someone replies to her. Why isn't the other member of this little party under scrutiny as well? I see a lot of hostility in her posts, she apparently accused Oscar of being jealous and bitter. How is THAT not an attack?

I think we all have things that offend us or that gross us out from other humans. Some find tattoo's offensive, some find piercing's gross. Sometimes it might be behavior, could be bad teeth, unkempt hair or just general body odor that the person has no control over. Anyone who says nothing of the human body offends or grosses them out is not being realistic. Whether it be obesity, anorexia, or a hairy ass, people can be gross at times.

Who was involved is, at this point, immaterial. The point is that if even "cute" posts can "annoy and provoke" then the fact that a particular thread annoys or provokes you cannot be used to justify attacking the poster.

Okay, I am gonna come out of my self imposed exile just this once and say something. Why? Well I'm not gonna beat around the bush. I'm doing it because Patsy Warnick is my good friend from way back here on FG. Take that any way you want.

Obese earthlings, men with their guts hanging over their pants or ladies with their wobbly wobbly flesh hanging from wherever ... They get that way 99.999 % of the time because they put more grub down their throats than they need to survive.

They disgust me! There I've said it. They disgust me!

There is nothing more disgusting to me than a fat obese earthling.

And despite their bravado and saying: "Oh but my husband/wife loves me just the way I am." They are lying in their teeth ...

All fat people wish they were not so fat.

So there ... go crucify me for telling the truth!

Is gross big time Hun.. Why beat about the bush trying to score points? Obese is not only ugly to look at but seriously bad for the person's health. Go take a look at the number of procedures that take place to staple stomachs to the size of an egg.

Obese isn't cool ...
