Growing on the Patio...

Post by Oscar Namechange »

Having had some moderate success last summer with Peppers, Chilli's, Garlic etc, I am attempting to grow Gourds this year also.

Anyone else grow stuff on the patio?

I also had some relative success with herbs tabby.. I had enormous garlic but have to say that the corriander was a failure.

My pal grew Gourds last year so I thought i'd give them a try.

Chives are probably my favorite herb to grow in containers and I love them on baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, etc. Last year I tried growing some lovage which I had never heard of but saw it at the nursery & gave it a try ... it had a great flavor. It's supposed to come back ... fingers crossed!

I think you'll have fun with growing the gourds, Oscar! They come in so many shapes & colors ... try a seed packet of the mixed and who knows what you'll end up with.

Has anyone ever tried & succeeded growing tomatoes with one of these newfangled containers? I tried it a few years ago and the word "debacle" springs immediately to mind. Maybe it was something I did or didn't do but I won't go there again ... it's skyward for me from here on out!

I've had a number of friends try them. They don't work worth a damn according to them.

What do you do with gourds? Sell them at Halloween?
