Actually this story received local coverage because it is thought that the three individuals involved were all taking part in illegal behavior. The New York Daily News covered the story here.

Don’t forget, as I’ve repeatedly pointed out on this site because I actually know something about that culture and its history, that Copts–not Muslims–were the leaders of pogroms against Jews in Egypt. They killed plenty of Jews and led the Muslims in these efforts. And they are no less violent than the Muslims in Egypt, except that now there are no Jews left to kill, so they replace the Jews in that category and now want our sympathy. Their recently deceased Pope Shenouda III repeatedly called Jews, “Christ-killers, and implored Copts to join and/or aid HAMAS. So, I would not be surprised if Ibrahim turns out to be a fellow Copt. If he turns out to be a Muslim, I won’t really care much more because I can’t shed a tear when Jew-haters are killed by fellow Jew-haters they allied with on Egyptian soil. I just wish they’d have stayed in Egypt because we don’t need more of them. I also don’t need more Mohammed film trailer makers of Copt origin here on US soil to engage in bank and credit card fraud and then blood libel the Jews by falsely claiming they’re Israeli and that American Jews gave them $5 million dollars to make his crappy trailer.

In the UK we have 85 Sharia Law courts. It's argued by the Muslim community that they settle non legal Issue's such as divorce and property settlements. However a report by Civitas In 2009 found they were In the main Incompatible with UK law. The main Issue and conflict was when It came to discrimination against women In matters relating to child custody, divorce settlements and marital violence. The report claimed that Sharia law showed no commitment to the best Interests of the child which In Itself conflicts with UK law. or example, any male child under 7 years old belongs to the Father under Sharia law.

Where any law Is based on preachings and teachings, It will never be compatible with a free democratic society. Many organisations here Including Iranian and Kurdish women are seeking for a ban on these courts In the UK.

It is at these very core issue that the problems arise. It is incompatible with most democratic societies.

The UK is a great example of the issues at hand and many students hold these conflicts as their argumentative basis.
