sorry for your difficulties, however it is probably not a good idea to solicit funds in this venue, especially at a place where nobody has a clue who you are. i hope things get better and you find a job soon. i also suggest you do not publicize your address, even though it is a PO box. are you doing this on other message boards? people are not going to bite.

You'd be surprised. That people fall for scams never ceases to amaze me, although this one is a simple "send money to" and not phishing, Nigerian/419 scam, etc.

no..i don't think i'd be surprised at all! usually the victims are poor elderly who fall for pleas. i have no idea if jojo is for real, but i suspect in my little cop mind that this person is posting this same message all over the internet in the hopes that even 2% will fall for it, and since it's Christmas, send monies. why would someone come here and make this their first post? because it's a fraud. notice jojo hasn't been back yet, just waiting by the PO box.

Granted, jobs are hard to find, but right now, you can't afford to be choosey. McDonalds, Burger King, Convenience stores, etc. are always looking for help. Is there something you are doing to make them not want to hire you such as listing unreasonable pay, quitting many jobs, going on interviews looking like you just got out of bed? You wouldn't believe the applications I've seen. If store hours were 7am to 11 pm, they wanted to work 9am to 9pm. They wanted $15 an hour.

If you are seriously seeking employment, rather than a handout, follow Peg's advice.

This time of year it is very easy to attain seasonal employment. You wouldn't believe the high turnover ratio department stores see during the holidays; the stress proves too much for many.

Good luck, I hope you are able to find a job!

Maybe it's the fact that you sit on the tube and women with their babies DRUGGED to keep them quiet wave a message in your face begging for money. Then on every corner there's people asking for money to fund their drug habbits. Not to mention all the registered charity collectors who stand in a line infront of the shops and attack you with"Excuse me spare a few moments for ........." fill in the blanks with any charity you can think of.

i know you're kidding with me, but i would like to clarify one thing...i am by no means a REDNECK :( ...last thing anyone would call me! let's see, educated in England and Boston...nope, neck not red. in fact, the 'rednecks' always want to know where the heck i'm from because i "talk funny" (speak the Queen's english) :) no offense to southerners who find the term offensive, not one i would have chosen. i do, however, work with some "good old boys"

If you are so desperate that you feel the need to ask strangers for help, think of this. Until business picks up again and you find a temporary job, you could save money by not paying for a P.O. box, doing away with internet, and you have a computer to sell. I'm really sorry for your situation. Let me tell you the reason I feel this way. First of all, whenever neccessary, I have worked 2 jobs, and taken care of my family. I see 2 guys constantly that cannot work because they are on disability yet are able to walk around miles every day picking cigarette butts out of ashtrays. If they can do all that walking, I'm sure they are not totally disabled. They have asked me and other people for cigarettes. My reply? "As soon as you find a job I will be happy to give you one. Until then, try what I do. Get a job." I'm not a heartless person. I've helped people out even when it ran me short. But I also have too much pride to ask for help, I'd rather work 2 jobs before would ask. Why not go to a fast food restraunt or something? I know it's way less pay than you are used to, but a little pay is better than no pay. I wish you luck. :-6

It sounds good, but i just can't send money to anywhere? There needs to be more information before the need for "help" can be helped? I do not mind helping or giving, i just need circumstantial evidence that this is a "real" need? I do not think message boards should allow this as well.

ok, for starters, quit "GOD BLESSING" me for one. your post is disjointed and makes no sense at all, and the key words are the same...you "help" people. i never called you a drug user. and now we're going to blame 9-11. (and do you mean THEIR own company?) this is totally lame and ill-conceived. and why should anyone here who has no idea who you are "pray for you"? you are not a member of this community, you came here with post 1 looking for a handout. of course my BS detector went off. if someone here wants to send you a check, great, but i think you need to go to the other 57 boards you posted this crap on and hope they don't have a cop on board. give it up.

Sounds like my neighbor who makes a living preying on the system, a religious person as well. We all must save for that day, when things aren't going well? Our season is here, where income decreases and we have to be prepared to pay bills and cope. If this person is typing here, to ask for help, they should be looking for employment, and usually people with "good" reputations find work. As i said, we have a woman in town who messes up an opportunity offered, and has sued many people for personal gain, i stay away from her, i felt bad at one time, any involvement with her leads to disaster.

I see people like that a lot. I know one girl who the government pays for her housing. She doesn't even live there! Her friend has just moved in after the house sat empty for months. She lives with her boyfriend and doesn't report it in case they would split up.

Another guy is required by welfare to look for a job. He goes through the phone book and writes down names of businesses and phone numbers knowing they won't call and check. In the mean time, he doesn't have to pay child support.

I see a guy on disability, ask people for financial help to fix his roof. He is disabled yet can do roof work? What's wrong with this picture? He is sitting there drinking a beer while he asks for financial help.

I have to get up "every" morning, my guys leave here at 4:15, i hear them starting their trucks, my phone starts ringing around 7:00. If you don't answer the phone, we make "no" money. People think i have "everything", but little do they know i am a money recycling company. This is a very "un-rewarding" business to be in. I donated all the time, it makes me feel good i am helping people. I get alot of letters from students, i give...i sponsor little league teams, as mush as $300.00 per. team.

The person responsible for starting the thread & to ask people for money, are truly interrupting our time relaxing in the garden. I really can;t believe the asking?

Lady Cop, I sure wish to heck I could win that California Lottery and then

all those puppers (and more besides!) would have their vests!!

My husband and I are having to watch it financially, that's one of the reasons

I am a blood donor, can't give money so I give that instead!

I think there was just a weed sprouted here in the garden amongst all us

flowers, but don't worry, I think it will wither away pretty soon!!

Shyvixen and Jojo of course, never met the copdog, but instinctively like him/her. btw: did'nt mean any offense with the redneck crack. In my defense, I have a beautiful, charming, daughter in law who was born and raised in Alabama. Despite her masters in polysci., she proudly claims to be a red neck, sometimes when amoungst folks that take themselves too seriously, she will in that perfectly modulated, southern belle voice claim to be a hillbilly, best ice breaker I've ever seen. After the expected gasp, people generally begin to really talk to, rather than past each other. She fixed my stiffneck at our first meeting, I've loved her every since.

We don't take labels very seriously around our place, I will in the future however, be more discreet at yours. Peace and good on ya

If we take everything seriously, the whole world would be on Prozac? What do you think about Chevy Chase with his comments to President Bush? We are in times where people are saying whatever they feel...I guess freedom of speech has come a long way? Celebrities are speaking out, in ways never imagined...so why do people feel so insulted at times?

We are in times where people are saying whatever they feel...I guess freedom of speech has come a long way? Celebrities are speaking out, in ways never imagined...so why do people feel so insulted at times?Let's see now Chevy Chase, comedian, actor. I just have a real hard time taking seriously a person who's profesion is to memorize, then repeat the words and thoughts of somebody else. My  is reserveds for the press that gives this nonsense credibility, and assumes I give a rats behind about celebrity rants.

About being insulted, I think you just enjoy seeing my foot in my mouth;) , oh well, foot in, foot out, it's good exercise. I've noted that we tend to see our own shortcomings in the words and deeds of others, that, plus the current PC mode of being "super vigilant" in outing "victomization" are I think at least part of the reason. For me, I'm too old, and life's too short to waste on being insulted. Finding the little gems of humor is so much more rewarding. I noticed somewhere that you posted a pic of a front end loader, I may have to borrow that for foot removal this time.:sneaky:
