Daddy Is a Minature Jack Russell called Mouse.... He's adorable and both him and ours have very loving personalities so the Pups should be lovely.

There's much activity In that belly today.... looks like the pups are beginning to move down nearer to the birth canal.

Can you speculate how many puppies there are by feeling her abdomen?

I was hoping she'd have them today as she Is now officially due.

There Is much wriggling going on In there and I would say there Is at least 4 In there If not 6.

I am prepared. I have KY Jelly In case I have to turn a breach birth or one stuck In the birth canal. Vitalin and syringes ready If god forbid she rejects the pups and I have to hand feed.

She didn't take to her new crate and we went through all sorts of nonsense to coax her to use It to no avail until one night recently boy dog decided It was his for the taking.... that solved that problem and she uses It now,

Camera Is ready and waiting.

Contractions have been going on for some time. Should have puppies by the morning. It's going to be a long long night.

Every Jack Russel terrier should be wired for a battery charger. All that non-stop energy! A whole litter of those pups would be fun to watch.

You're right there and a very good point why I won't sell my Puppies to old ladies looking for a lap dog. Their size makes many believe they are lap dogs but quite the opposite. They need huge amounts of exercise and stimulation. If they get bored they can suffer OCD and destroy your house. ( just ask my neighbour lol )

They make great dogs for older children In that running/jumping/fetching type kind of way.

I noticed that my neighbor's dog makes good use of their tree in the back yard. It grows slanted so that he can climb it, and he explores all through the branches. :wah:

Here, we have to remove the bottom branches from our tree's because, yep, the buggers will climb up them.

Just one reason I love Jacks. So full of life, so cunning and Intelligent. Utterly fearless to boot.

Our boy dog Is 15 no so a lot quieter but there was a time when walking them up the river bank, we'd have to put his leash on when passing an enormous tree on the bank of the river which leaned over. Too many times he's given me heart failure by scaling the tree and then throwing himself full flight into a swollen River Avon.

WOW! That's one of those things that's better remembered than it was experienced, eh?

Awful experiences. We stopped taking them down the river eventually. In the house, my 3 are extremely obedient and house trained but I am ashamed to admit that once out, the 3 turned Into a pack of hooligans that brought me shame many a time.

Boy dog decided to terrorise a swan one day not relaising she had cygnets under her wings. I think It's fair to say she chased him for a mile around the river. Our old girl who we recently lost became a cattle botherer while young Rosie vanished down Fox earths and rabbitt warrens.

In the end, I stopped taking them there.
