M daughter and her partner have made a wine shelf and glass holder and a daybed for the garden out of pallets, along with a patio table and chairs out of cable reels. They look great

Amazing! I particularly like the room divider and also the little red deck for outside!

I actually made a rolling table for the patio a couple of years ago. It's on my wifes Facebook page but I can't seem to attach it.

And I thought you was all wealthy academics, not penny pinching recyclers.

Only kidding.........I have made garden bench and stools, and a workbench from packing cases, never used pallets so far.

Good job! Now I have to find some pallets. I think I'll also try using scrap fencing. People are always repairing fences around here.

I used a Palette once for stacking things on... I called It a Palette.

Are they more feminine than a pallet

I hear they're a lot easier to keep clean than regular wood tables. All you need is a cracker.

I thought there was a British equivalent, but I could only find this:

FOUND: Saltine Crackers!I don't know if anyone else has already posted about this, but I found Saltine crackers at my local Morrisons! They are an Italian brand called Delsa, and there is a lot of Italian writing on the box, but there is a picture of them on there and you can tell they are definitely Saltines. I tried some as soon as I got home, and they are just as good as I remember (though these are slightly less salty than the brands I remember) and even better, they come in individual packs of ten crackers, which is perfect! YAY!!!
They're used by wine tasters to clean the pallet.

Tabby, those really are amazing! But if I saved old stuff to do new stuff with, I'd just forget why I saved the old stuff and then I'd be a hoarder (I'm halfway there anyway!)
