Can you tell me what school reading books these were please?

At school I remember some reading books featuring a character called Tim who lived with his nan because his parents had died in an accident. Also in the book he was visited by a black cat and a pirate captain.

Apart from that, that is all I can remember. Can you please tell me what these reading books were called please?

They have long been out of print. The four series were all re-issued in 2004 as 128-page compilations and those are all out of print as well. Putting a full set together now would be difficult.
