When the Ghurkas were given the right to remain in the UK, I wondered why.
They have never been a Common Wealth Member, their men have basically sold their military skills as mercenaries to the highest bidder, if the British don't take them they go to India, or the next highest bidder.
I have had nothing but good relationships with any I have had the pleasure to meet, they are hard working, and respectful, fine upstanding people.
My concern was that when the children of a militaristic people become disillussioned, with a tradition of knife skills, the results might not be beneficial.
I am hoping this is a one off.
A Nepalese man who carried out a bloody attack with a nine-inch kukri knife during a drunken brawl has today been jailed for seven years.
I predicted this.

Surely, It's a one off ?
If It's not then your saying that all African Muslims will go on to behead British citizens or all Pakistani men will rape children. Even all Muslims are terrorists.
Even all Millwall fans are sub Intelligent and anyone who comes from Brighton Is gay.

I truly hope so too.
I have had conversations with a German about the Turks in Germany, and the same applies to our own immigrants to a certain extent.
They become dissillusioned by the degrees of discrimination they feel they have recieved and bite back, their parents don't have the same outlook/attitude, they were grateful for the opportunities.
I think it applies to our Asian and West Indian population, a foot in both worlds and not knowing where who they are,not accepted unconditionally by either world.....................hope I am wrong.

But that Is Indicitive of any race settling In a different country. First wave Immigrants were grateful for the opportunities but 2nd, 3rd and 4th generations struggle between their roots, culture and our country and It's culture.
I do believe many feel a sense of Injustice when they don't look outside the box. If they live In area's of social and Industrial deprivation with little or none governmental Investment Into jobs etc, they don't see the whole country Is suffering cut backs. In area's of large ethnic communities, some see It as disenchantment with them and not the country as a whole.
That leads to a sense of Injustice and It's that sense of Injustice which festers until they do something they believe Is justified but unfortunately, some Innocent suffers as was the case of Lee Rigby.

Go round any housing estate in the UK and you will see groups of disillusioned young people from one of the most militaristic nations on the planet standing around and in the right circumstances capable of delivering a level of violence and aggression second to none. take the nationality out of this and there were similar incidents all over the country.
