Batten down the hatches...
Humph !!!
So where Is It then ?
I would have thought that In this day and age, weather forecasting was more accurate than ever.
Having gone to bed one night In 1987 with Michael Fish's words ' Don't worry there Is not a hurricane on the way' only to Incur the most frightening night of my life when 90 mph winds hit my house, I thought that kind of Inaccuracy was long gone...
So where Is this storm then?
Having spent the day yesterday bringing In garden furnature and anything that can fly, moving my wheelie bins. checking fencing etc etc, what happens? A big fat nothing.
I was suspicious around midnight last night when I went out to the Foxes to find them In the field a frollicking and a scumpering. They tend to take to their Earths when very bad weather Is on the horizon.
I don't know If I feel relieved or a tad dissapointed.

It's hitting tonight, this is the calm before the storm. Nothing much happening here yet apparently it's going to hit here around 8pm. Although I did read somewhere that we may just be on the edge of it and it maybe headed more toward France than us.

Ahhh
I've got nothing ( 5.20 pm ) so far. Not a spot of rain, not so much as a leaf blowing on the tree's....
The test will be where the Foxes are tonight for me.
I even bought candles Yesterday.

The rain started here around six I think, by 8pm it was coming down in stair rods, no wind to speak of though. I left the pub at around 10pm and it was a bit windy but can hear the wind building at the moment, due to start getting really bad just after midnight.

We've had this kind of weather for around two years now ...winds topping 130km. gusting 160-180 km.And so much rain. Floods galore. Apparently as I write this you guys are copping it sweet. Probably not getting a lot of sleep at the moment .
For us this is the type of weather you get between 'El nino' and 'Le nina'.
Good luck, and I hope your out door furniture doesn't belong to your neighbours now

I was disappointed last night, after they kept on about it all week. I slept through the last one, the hurrican that Michael Fish denied was going to happen.
This morning discovered 5 of my fence panels flattened, the posts snapped at ground level, oh well I shall see what I can do with it now.

Yes, it's very sad and I realise other places were hit badly. Truly thankful we missed out.

Heavy rain and wind ....causes "widow makers" Don't go near a tree that even looks healthy during weather like that.
We've had the kind of weather you're having for months now, to the point that the chainsaw is kept constantly in the boot of the car.
