Paypal questions
one of the paypal questions was whether I'd been identified as a politcal activist or something or other..I'm not sure what's worse the fact that they ask it, or the fact I had to think about it. :-3:-3:-2

I don't recall any questions like that, but I am not a political activist.
Whats it got to with them anyway............I hope you refused to answer it.

As far as I know, Paypal does not inquire about your politics or religion. I use Paypal, and if am sent an e-mail asking this I would ignore and delete. Be careful.

Paypal wouldn't ask questions like that, I don't think.

Well you'll soon find out because I just sent a payment to this site . I know our governmnet blocked anyone from sending payments to activists sites that they deem improper or illegal. It asks you the question after youv'e given your details/money. the next page has it ...I tried to go back and get the correct wording but i'd have to send more money first lol lol ...and that aint happening.

Here's the current Australian Paypal Acceptable Use policy, I don't see anything about political or activism in it and the page is fully up to date. If you ever see the wording again I'd be interested to see what it says and who it came from - a screen capture would be ideal.

That'll be it then. Why fuzz was hit by "a specific identification requirement or as a result of our watch list screening process" I'd not like to guess. It's not a question I've been asked yet, maybe they'll get around to me later.

I belong to 'forums' that are watched. Yes, by your very own spooks. That's why I had to think about it.
But as an aside. We've had lots of trouble in this country with paypal donations to organisations. Recently the phillipines tsunami charities. Paypal is rejecting some organisations receiving paypal donations. Don't ask me why because I have no idea . No one seems to get an answer.

Some friends and I have been running a Fantasy football league, and we started using Paypal for paying the season buy-in, and the league admin was paying out prizes with Paypal.
A whopping 300 bucks a year was changing hands between 12 guys.
This year they shut us down for suspected gambling

Reminds me of my last job when in the Army. My boss and his buddy would bet between themselves more than that every week. That was in 1972, Thing is, not much money ever changed hands. My point is, between the twelve of you, really how much money was bet that 300 dollars changed hands?
I can see Paypal being a bit wary of a gambling ring, or how the government may see it.
Oh, BTW, the way you presented it, here, to me it was more than "suspected gambling".

Well, we all pitch in 25 bucks at the beginning of the season, and the top team wins 100, second place wins fifty. the other 150 gets meted out in things like Best overall scoring, and such.
In reality, that same 300 bucks just gets passed around year over year.
