Tell me I did the right thing...
To cut a very long story short.
The neighbour who has been abusing my husbands kindness of late and who we told to take a hike last week...
His wife has divorced him and they live In seperate parts of the house until the house Is sold and they go their seperate ways...
He was chatting last week and he bragged to us that when he set up the Insurance on his 17 year old daughters car after she passed her test, he deliberately put her date of birth down as 1957 so the Insurance was £1,600 a year cheaper. Worse he had told her the car he had bought her had an MOT but didn't.
A few weeks ago the daughter asked my husband If he'd help her buy a new car which he did. The neighbour told my friends that they could have the old car for £200 which they took. It cost them £600 to get It through an MOT because It needed major welding work and two mechanics swore the car had been a write off when he bought It.
This man not only let his daughter drive a wreck that could have gone off the road at any time but let her drive around on an Invalid Insurance policy. Even worse, he took the monthly payments off her for a year.
We were so appalled that we told her and her Mother and they have Involved the police. They told us that he has also stolen his son's Inheritance that was put |In trust for him until he was 18, clearing the account.
Has he got what he deserves or am I a snitch as he called me today ?

Tell me I did the right thing...
I think the answer is obvious.
Yes
Yes, and yes
You did the right thing, he got what he deserved, and you are a snitch.
I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over #3.
(edit) Need to rethink #2. He did not deserve all that he got, but hopefully after the trail, he will.

Well usually I would never betray a confidence but he was bragging about how clever he'd been.
When the daughter went to set up the Insurance on her new car, he Insisted he did It for her so that's why I told her.

Most definitely, the consequences for the daughter had she been in an accident - assuming she survived would have been fairly serious not least because the insurance would have been invalid with no MOT never mind the fraudulent date of birth. He's a ****.

Especially when it harms other people, a snitch is a blessing.
What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?
She had the black vote all locked up.

Not a nice thing to have to do but someone has to do it.....yes is the answer.

I hope they throw the book at him. His response was ' everyone does It'.
When my Father was alive any time any of us and the Grand children bought a car, he'd have It up on a ramp and let his mechanics take It apart before they paid for It.
When my friends bought the car for £200, two mechanics condemned the car as a write off yet he let his daughter drive It for 6 months with no MOT... worse, he was fully aware she was giving lifts to college friends with no Insurance,
I made a police statement today... **** him !!!!

So, two good things came out of this... he got caught and you don't ever have to talk to him (or shop) again.

So, just for my edification, what is an MOT ?

I see.
We had similar tests in Colorado for a while, but now it is reduced to an emission test every two years.
Several other states still maintain safety and emission inspections.

In the UK you will be prosecuted for driving with no MOT.

Most states that have such inspections put a sticker on the car that indicates it passed. driving without such a sticker on a car licensed in that state is a misdemeanor.
In Colorado, we must have proof of passing the emission test within the last 30 days when time to renew the license tags, or when a car changes ownership.
That is only in certain counties along the front range, though. rural counties do not require the test.

You will also be done for having no insurance - since most companies will regard their policies invalid if their is no MOT. It's usually in the policy conditions you have to keep the vehicle roadworthy will a valid MOT.
