A delightful Christmas party at my neighbor's!

Post by valerie »

It was wonderful, all aspects of it. Santa even put in an

appearance, and the three young children who were there

had eyes as big as saucers! Santa had a bag of toys, and

all the kids got something, even the ones who are now grown.

Hostess said "Shhhhh, I think I hear Santa" and there he was,

lovely elf in tow. This has been a tradition for the 25 years

most of my neighbors have been here. The youngest of the

'original owner' kids is 18 and one kid who was 11 when we moved

here was there with his new fiance! It was a great party. The hostess

had masses of candles in red and white, sparkly different types of

candle holders, large collection of interesting wire table top trees,

red plaid tablecloth, lighted stair rails and crown molding, the whole

wonderful thing. Very warm and inviting.

Husband took a bit of teasing that he actually exists, because work

keeps him away from a lot of parties. But he did enjoy himself, too.

Great to go just a bit down the street and have a nice cocktail, since

you only have to walk home, no driving involved.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

That sounds wonderful, it might have even gotten my bah-humbug butt to a party.

It's nice reading something positive here for once. :-4
