And both made in the same year, I notice. My Boxing Day treat has been to watch Pépé le Moko with several friends, 20 years older and in very dramatic French monochrome (the film, not the friends) but I'd have happily joined you for your selection.

Well I managed to miss that.

Although I did just fall asleep toward the end of "The Wizard of Oz"..........at least relieving my wife of the continual background information from my extensive knowledge of the cultural refences contained therein..........actually I am glad I did fall asleep.....I was boring myself.

I watched "The Apartment" the other day. I hadn't seen it in awhile. Enjoyed Jack Lemmon, Shirley McClaine and Fred McMurray. Both comedy and drama.

Hi folks and sorry for crashing your thread Bruv but I've finally managed to get here and be able to reply! Don't know why I haven't before, but every time I click reply to thread it just goes to the loading symbol and won't move. I don't have this problem on the sports chat site I go to, or on the BBC website. Have I got some virus or malware that is blocking me or something? Quite possible, but all my antivirus checks are coming up negative and I STILL haven't been able to post. Especial apologies to Fuzzywuzzy who replied to my post which DID work for some reason but hasn't since so I couldn't respond or correct the link or anything! Argh!.

Anyway, hello all and Happy Christmas. Will be here more now I've found a way to reply again! :guitarist

Yep, definitely works. I have to log out and then try to reply and it sends me to the login screen which works and allows me to reply.

If anyone knows why this is happening, please let me know...

Yep, defrag is set up as an automatic, and when I've checked it says I don't need to defrag because it's less than 1%. But was able to get here to reply to you by logging out, returning to the page I was viewing and logging in again.

And to be vaguely on-topic: I just watched Sounds of the Seventies...omg I'm getting old!

oooh I missed that!

Not sure what's going on with you, maybe Tyr will have an idea. In the meantime have you another browser you could try logging in with and see if you still get the same problem?

Well, I spent the day hacking and coughing from a head cold I managed to pick up on my while in Dallas this weekend. Wonderful.

Working on the right combination of cough syrup, lozenges, and decongestant to try and get some real sleep, and praying that I did not share it with everybody over Christmas dinner, last night.

I've noticed that when people get old and really, really start showing their age they tend to post in the wrong thread.

Not too bad so far. Some minor flooding (it's never minor if it affects you, of course) but we seem to be getting just enough break between storms that we've not been completely overwhelmed. And some of the new flood defences and systems might be helping too.

But this is one heck of a sequence of storms and more due next week, I gather. We've a way to go yet.

I very rarely watch any films (movies) It's just at Christmas time they pull out all the old ones, and as I am off work I have watched a couple.

If you saw my DVD collection you'd think I stopped watching movies after the 1960's :wah::wah:

Though I'm looking forward to the 'Railway Man'. Granddad spent three years in that godforsaken place after the fall of Singapore. I'd like to see how they depict it this time round.
