Off to New Zealand on the 5th

Post by Lon »

It's only the 30th here in California but I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year. I will be joining my wife who has already been in New Zealand since October.

Happy New Year Lon

New Zealand - how cool

How long do you plan on staying in New Zealand? How long a flight is this for you?

I've never been - is it warm & tropical this time of year?

New Zealand has already rang in the New Year..!

be safe - enjoy

It's 12 1/2 hrs non stop out of Los Angeles. I will be back in California on April 1. We used to go for five to six months at a time, but we are both getting older and that flight seems to get longer. New Zealand is really not tropical despite being in the South Pacific. 85 F is considered a hot day. It's pretty far south and Antartic waters affect the climate. We have a place in Motueka, not far from Nelson on the South Island.

12 1/2 hours !! Not sure if I could be in a plane for that length of time any more.

I remember you mentioning New Zealand - it's probably a night flight and you'd sleep but that's a long flight.

I remember wanting fresh air & throwing water on my face - I felt dehydrated flying for 12 hours..

have a safe trip
