You are given a Bath Tub full of water and told to empty It.

You are offered, a spoon, a teacup or a bucket.

Which one?

None. I would just tip the thing on its side. Problem solved.

What you need is a towel, neither of the others get the bath empty. The towel's admittedly slower but you end up with a dry - hence empty - bath.

As Lars points out, not all bath tubs have plugholes. Some hang on walls between uses. Either they get ladled out or they get tipped depending on their weight. The wording "you are given" in the OP strongly suggests that sort of bath as opposed to one with a plughole.

I still say the bath must end up dry to be technically empty, and that a towel will cover all cases and is the only solution given which would achieve that final result.

Exactly!

Of course, if it's indoors, like this one, tipping it over is ill advised.

We usually took our baths outside.
