I think I was fair...

Post by Oscar Namechange »

Tonight, I can not believe the beahviour of my revolting neighbour on Facebook.

I wrote a status update earlier saying:

" Does anyone want these before I put them on E Bay ? Original 1970's Ladies knee high, Leather Doc Martin's, excellent condition... £100 or near offer...

Straight away within seconds one of my racing associates private messaged me and said his daughter was begging him for them and Yes. So I messaged back saying they were his.

Then this revolting neighbour came on saying " but you're a bloke".

It went on for a bit and now she's got really funny about It all.

First of all, I know for fact she's size 4 and these are size 6... then she offered me Instalments !!!!!

I've tried to be nice and told her I like to think I am a fair person and he Inboxed me first... that's fair.

Now she's trying to claim I promised her these boots years ago... why would I do that when I can get £150 on E Bay for them?

Some people :-5:-5:-5

What about your braces. What are you selling them for ?

Ben Shermans ? I know they'll be far too big for me but....

Had to wear them in the bath in them days. Shrink them to fit. Then bleach them.

Oh and Blakey's.... did you ever bang them In your DM's... My Mother said I sounded like the local Milk horse clipping up the street.

etc.... I say Yellow... My Mother would say ' Primrose'

I had Blakeys in all my boots.

I'm too young to have taken part in the shrink to fit craze but I can remember jeans so tight it took ten minutes per leg to get them on and then you had to lie on the floor to do the zip up!

I used to do that lying on the bed and then walk around once done up like you had a spinal brace on.

The bleaching of the Levi's was quite an art In those days... not light enough and you got laughed at... too light and you got laughed at... and then you had to cut a knee open for good measure.

Well it was a prefab. I wouldn't call that posh.

I didn't have blakeys in my Doc Martins but I had them in my Royals and my Brogues

Prefabs I remember them,I had an aunt and uncle that lived in one until the seventies. There's still some in my old home town, used for sheltered housing would you believe. They were better than some of the prefab concrete houses they replaced them with

I loved it there and my Nan and Grandad (who didnt have an inside loo) thought it was paradise.

Bloody freezin in the winter though. Single little log burner that heated the closest 6 ft of the room and nothing else.

Going back to my OP...

I'm astonished.

I parceled up the boots and sent them by recorded delivery lunchtime yesterday to Ireland.

Got a message lunchtime to say they had arrived !!!! That's damn good service by Royal Mail. It was actually less than 24 hours.

Then 10 minutes ago, the buyers payment appeared In my account when I checked on line.

Meanwhile, my revolting neighbour continue's to carp.

I then get another message to say his daughter had arrived home and to say she Is ecstatic about her boots, Is an understatement. He said he realises the grief I got from the neighbour but he commended me on my fairness and offered me a week In Ireland as his guest at his horse racing stud farm.

I think that just endorses my own beliefs and everything I was taught as a child. Be a good loser, be fair and Karma will pay you back In kind.

I am still wondering why you have a person you seem to despise on your facebook.

My husband Is good pals with her partner. He's actually an Ok guy and he uses my husband as an outlet to vent. As a neighbour, we have watched her kids grow up and we have a good relationship with the teenagers and It would hurt them If we turned against their Mother. So we endure her to keep things sweet although we try to distance ourselves from her to not offend the rest of the family... If that makes sense.

Understand, completely.

I have one of those, myself.

My brother-in-law is a dunderhead.

He posts stuff on facebook that would make Tude Dog seem like a commie. He irritates the crap out of me.

His wife is a sweetheart, and his daughter is a wonderful person. My Wife was very upset when I told her I had "unfriended" him, and insisted I re-friend him.

So, for her, I did.

So, for her, I did. I get that completely. This neighbour Is the same... posts s.hit on my status updates but I have to be pleasent because her kids will see It. If I unfriend her, then she will make sure her partner can't be my husbands pal...It's very difficult In situations like that when you have to suffer a ******** just to keep the peace.
