Drug and insurance companies will from later this year be able to buy information on patients – including mental health conditions and diseases such as cancer, as well as smoking and drinking habits – once a single English database of medical data has been created.

I have just become aware that my NHS records are up for auction.

They tell us they are anonymised, I don't believe them.

No, I don't believe them either...

You wait, the moment they go public, you'll get junk mail specific to your medical problems In the post.

How long will It be before anyone can access them on line?

Would it help if I post an opt-out letter?

Google "whatever steps necessary to ensure my confidential personal information is not uploaded".

I dropped mine into my health centre a couple of days ago, I had a phone call at lunchtime today from my doctor thanking me.
