So what type of voter are you? Pollsters Populus have come up with a new way of tapping into the mind of the electorate

I am optimistically content. But that is probably the drugs the doc has me on.

This is mine. I suspect it would have been different if when it came to questions regarding Britain I has responded with something other than a middle of the road 5.

I did that 'cause I really don't have a feel for those questions.

Probability of membership

Comfortable Nostalgia = 0%

Hard-pressed Anxiety = 0%

Cosmopolitan Critics = 0%

Calm Persistence = 0%

Optimistic Contentment = 100%

Long-term Despair = 0%

Main Segment = Optimistic Contentment



Confident & comfortable, they are more highly educated, of a higher social grade & have higher incomes than the other groups. They are patient, prudent & tolerant but also think Britain is a soft touch. They believe people can get on if they work hard & that too much is expected from government

Seems we are all a bit lethargic, being led by the nose by our masters.

I found that a lot of their assumed opposites were not polar :-

Probability of membership

Comfortable Nostalgia = 0%

Hard-pressed Anxiety = 1%

Cosmopolitan Critics = 65%

Calm Persistence = 34%

Optimistic Contentment = 0%

Long-term Despair = 0%

Main Segment = Cosmopolitan Critics

Are generally younger, more secular & single, urban-based voters. Usually highly educated, this group worries about growing inequality & the general direction the country is going in. More likely than other groups to be working in the public sector
