Police Blotter news

Post by LarsMac »

Most newspapers will post police reports from the loval police blotter.

Sometimes, they are rather interesting.

I found these in the Denver Post this week and thought they were worth sharing:

Suspects upset that bar is closed. A bar owner called Denver Police on May 9 after a suspect broke a window at Bottom’s Up, 4058 Fox St. The victim said the suspects were trying to get into the bar after hours. One man became frustrated when they couldn’t get in and punched the window. The victim went outside to confront the men, but one brandished a handgun and the group drove off. A police vehicle saw the suspects, but they eluded police and got on the highway.

Neighbor troubles. A woman who suspected her neighbor of ripping down her cable line went outside to take pictures of the damage April 25. The woman’s neighbor came outside his residence in the 2300 block of West 92nd Avenue, Federal Heights, and started taking pictures of the woman, so she called the police.

Over mom’s dead body. Police were called to the 137000 block of West 67th Place, Arvada, on April 27 after a brother and sister got in a fight over when to spread their dead mother’s cremated remains. The brother left with the urn after allegedly assaulting his sister.

Learning to drive, steal. Police stopped a vehicle in the 9800 block of Laredo Street because the driver ran a stop sign April 15. The suspect said she was learning to drive, but didn’t have a learner’s permit yet. The officer ran the license plates for the car and discovered it was stolen. The girl’s mother, who was in the passenger seat, was given a ticket.

Parakeet says it’s unhappy. The manager of Evergreen Animal Protective League’s thrift store, 27888 Meadow Drive, Evergreen, contacted Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies March 5 to report a customer who was harassing store employees, saying the store’s parakeet told her it is not happy in its cage and the bird is mistreated. Deputies told the customer she is not welcome back.
