I have done something I have never done In my life before and could kick myself.

I have guests for dinner tonight and am making what they hoped I'd make for them... homemade Steak and Kidney suet pudding.

Last night I made the suet mix and left to prove In the fridge overnight and and then sealed all the meat. 3 lb of finest Scottish beef. Once sealed I got the stock from previous roasts from the freezer that I prize so highly and added that.

I had the lot on a low simmer late last night to make sure the meat melted In the mouth.

I thought I'll turn It off when I come back from feeding the Foxes but Peter got up this morning, luckilly around 6 am and found I'd forgotten... I have never done that In my life before.... all the meat and my lovely stock boiled dry.

Being the clever clogs he Is, he rushed out to Sainsbury the moment they opened for more meat which I've got simmering again now.

I could kick myself :-5:-5

On the upside... the dogs will eat well tonight

Steak and kidney pie ?

It is predicted to be the hottest day of the year..........wouldn't a nice spam salad go down better?

I've very accommodating like that you know.
