Do they ask for all they get?

I have a Twitter account but very rarely use It. Frankly, It bores me rigid.

I have probably made around 10 posts since opening the account but I seem to have watchers... huh ?? :-2:-3

Yet, so many celebrities, politicians etc etc seem to write their every waking moment.

They then whine like fury when us non celeb plebs take to Twitter to berate them.

A recent example was Vannessa Feltz whining about the latest backlash on Twitter after she tried cashing In the Rolph Harris trial...

So why do they do It ? They say It's for the fans but they leave themselves wide open.

Despite my apathy of Twitter, I did log on one night when the ex Party Chairman and myself decided to take a certain Footballer to task.

Last week, there was an ex TV presenter advertising his new book on Twitter and a pal of mine posted his reply to her on Facebook. She said to him ' I need a new doorstop. looks just the job' and he replied to her with a great sense of humour. I couldn't resist and followed It with ' I've got a hole In the roof, I'll take 4'... again he replied most charmingly which was surprising because I always had him down as a tosser. Yet so many get so nasty when faced with this sort of thing.

Why do It then ?

I have a Twitter account myself but, like you, I don't see the appeal of it. I occasionally get alerts from Tweets made by Stephen Fry & Brian Cox as they can come up with some very interesting remarks, but even then the most they can usually do is to link to other sites as the number of characters is very limited (something like 64 characters) - FFS, I've come across some URLs that won't fit into a Tweet.

I'd say more an insatiable desire and misguided, delusion that the entire population is champing at the bit to know their every action and thoughts. It's vanity in the most vulgar form that leads them to object in the strongest terms when anyone dare disagree with them.

I don't have a twitter account and will never have one but the wife does often point out some hilarious insulting behaviour to me from time to time on twitter such as the venom that passes between Lord Sugar and Donald Trump.
