That's even funnier!

One thing the Americans are very good at.

I don't know how or why, but maybe my choice in jeans prevented me from becoming a doctor of lawyer.

Never really cared much about style, so back in the days of Antiestablishmentarianism Dickies was then as now, the working mans choice.
What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?
She had the black vote all locked up.

With you on that one. When it comes to fashion I am imspired by the words of Bruce Lee in enter the dragon. "My style is no style at all. " OK he wasn't talking about fashion but so what

Yes. I have no doubt your choice in jeans would have kept you barred from most medical schools.

Implementing an existing right? Sorry about that, just saying.

LarsMac;1463630 wrote: We still need to have that conversation. There are far too many unnecessary deaths caused by ignorant or thoughtless gun owners in this country. One child accidentally shot is one too many. One innocent civilian killed is one too many.

Education and training need to be a part of this.

Who can argue against that?

Is government schools an answer?

New law allows schools to teach gun safety to first-graders

(CNN) -- Along with math, science and social studies, gun safety could soon be part of the first-grade curriculum in some Missouri public schools.

A new measure that advocates for such classes for first-graders was signed into law last week. But the idea has prompted worry from some parents and experts about the role and effectiveness of gun safety programs in a classroom setting.

"I don't have a gun. My family doesn't have a gun. There is no reason for them to be teaching about gun safety when there are children with parents like me," Aimee Patton, a Kansas City blogger and mom to a 6-year-old girl, told CNN in a phone interview.

That's in Missouri.

Gun safety should start with parents.

There are plenty of gun safety programs.

for example

NRA

NSSF

Phesants Forever

Maybe carelessness or whatever just isn't curable.

No, I do NOT think government school is the answer. Wish I knew what the answer was.

I know that when I was young, the NRA was not a political entity. They focused on education and sports activities. Now the majority of their budget is focused on politics.

Yes, those programs are available, but too many people now own guns without the first clue of how to properly handle and store them.

And of course none of that is going to prevent the occasional Loonie from doing something completely unpredictable.

But you cannot legislate based on what loonies might do. That is truly the path to insanity.
