Lousey days racing that saw many races taken by outsiders... I blame the appalling ground conditions today.
Just two 2nd's for me, Turn Over Sivola and Smart Money
Tigris brought down In a 3 horse pile up 3 hurdles from home. Jockey Kieran Edgar still In hospital but all 3 horses OK.

So the National Hunt season has drawn to a close and Flat racing begins ( yawn ).
In the dying embers of the last few days of the season we see two fantastic wins and Immediate announcements of their retirements.
Sizing Europe once rated the fastest horse In training and former champion of The Queen Mother Champion Chase can now enjoy a thoroughly deserved retirement. ( 12 yrs old ) Form 1111132231212112111112212441.
Along with him, the retirement Is announced of the warrior that Is Tidal Bay ( 13 years old ).
It was wonderful to see Tidal Bay paraded for the fans this week at Sandown Park to say a final farewell and Sizing Europe going out with a blaze of glory today at Leopardstown.
Racing has lost two monumental chasers and hero's and a new era begins.
For me, the outstanding performances of the season go to Quevega, Sire De Grugy who I believe If he can step up to 3 miles, Is the next Kauto Star and the lion of a horse that Is Balthazar King.
That's It, season over.... now wake me up when September comes..
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I have just been Informed that following her race on Thursday, Queen Quevega Is to be retired... Thanks for the thrills wonder mare, there will never be another to replace you.

Been a while since I posted here what with the Flat season In full swing but with only a short time before I come alive again for my passion and forte In life, The National Hunt season, news of the creme de la creme of Steeplechasing and words from neighing circles begin to trickled down.
The Highlight of my day has to be the news of two of my most admired chasers that I was so bitterly dissapointed to see miss this years Cheltenham Festival due to Injury and a heart scare.
The one dubbed In the racing world as The Black Areoplane Is back In training !!!! Oh Yippity doo dah :guitarist
I await the 2015 season with anticpated excitement at seeing the one and only Sprinter Sacre back on our courses.
This sets up a fantastic prospect of Sire De Grugy VS Sprinter Sacre.
Henderson said on Monday the pair were making encouraging progress as they inched closer to a return and he laid the foundations for one of the season's most anticipated meetings by revealing Sprinter Sacre was likely to restart his career against Champion Chase winner Sire De Grugy in the Tingle Creek at Sandown.
Henderson aces Sacre and Simonsig back in training | Horse Racing News | Racing Post
The other of my most admired Is Simonsig who Is back !!! :guitarist
Henderson looks to be gearing him to The King George on Boxing Day.
Bring It On !!!

The season begins and I may just have to get along to Cheltenham on Friday for my first day of the season at the races. Although, I don't like to bet serious money at this stage after they have been roughed up during the winter and are seeing their first outing In months.
Yet some Interesting prospects, old favourites and high high class runners on Friday In Group 2's.
The 2.05 and Nigel Twiston-Davis's Blaklion and Present View I'm predicting will be the one's to beat but with good to soft ground.Henserson's My wig wam or yours Could be a cheeky each way punt.
The 2.40 and I'd be looking at Court Minstrel although I'd like to see Paul Nicholl's Solar Impulse do well here.
The 3.15 and I would really love to see that old warrior Knockara Beau score here but realistically, In this large field, Jonjo O'Neill's On The Record looks the one to beat
The 3.50 and a class race but If any chaser was due for a win, It has to be Kilbree Kid. The soft going may be just what he needs here.
The 4.25 and another of Jonjo's Champagne At Tara may be another each way punt
5.00 and The Young Master and Balbriggan will be In the running but again, Definate Ruby Is worth an each way punt.
The 5.25 and although I am averse to Conditional Jockey Stakes, I see some old favourites. Mountain King each way
Saturday and some old favourites here, Fantastic to see Chicago Grey and Tiger Roll entered here..

Not a sizable profit... but broke even... not bad for day One

Saturday 18th October Cheltenham
2,00 pm Vivaldi Collognes win
2.35 Going to stick my neck right out here. Would love to see a return to form for Champion Court. The difference In distances here down to 2 miles 4 furlongs could be what he needs. A long shot... but he could just do well here.
3.10 A shocking performance last time out but he likes Cheltenham and knows that hill... I'm sticking with Tiger Roll for a straight win. The rain should be to his liking.
3.45 Some real favourites of mine here that I'd be thrilled to see return to form. Alfie Spinner, Golden Chieften and Chicago Grey Will always have a soft spot for Chicago Grey after he was so Impressive coming In behind Beshabar In the Scottish Grand National but If I recall correctly, he's failed to score at Cheltenham. Going to stick my neck right out again and look at Sire Collognes each way
4.25 Would love to see Neil Mulholland a young and up and coming trainer score here with Pass The Time, but for me, Ulzana'a Raid win and Abolitionist each way
Pass on the next two races..

Three years ago I believed I'd spotted a star In the making. In the pre-parade rings, I totally fell for this beautiful, beautiful boy, So much presence and attitude.
Since, he's been noted as one of the best staying hurdlers. In 2011 he looked like he had the making of a true champion when he won the Feltham Chase at Kempton Park. Yet, soon after, he was blighted by breathing problems.
He was Inferior only to the 4 times World Hurdle Champion Big Bucks and came In a close second to him In the 2011 World Hurdle at Cheltenham.
The horse known as ' George' to his yard has been officially retired today and will live out his days In the Equestrian world.
Goodbye Grand Crus... I worshiped you and I will miss you and never forget you... a true warrior.
