headed to London tomorrow to take my Mum to the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday evening. It will be her last ever attendance (in her eyes) now that she is in her 80's, and she especially wanted to attend this years Remembrance Ceremony.
I have two boxes of tissues packed, not sure how I will make it through the evening.
Have also just this evening come back from a meeting at our local legion where my Mum was awarded an engraved Silver plate to mark 60 years of Poppy selling. This year is the first year she has been unable to take part due to the fact she is awaiting a hip operation. Fingers crossed she'll be up and about and out selling them Poppies this time next year! :-4

Off to the big city...
Have a wonderful time Betty & enjoy every minute with your mum. Hah! Just thought of a poem my mother would endlessly recite (read as 'drill into your brain')
"When all those have forsaken you
and you haven't any other
Turn to the one that loves you best
Your own dear mother"

Wish I could be there.
