A high-achieving school in Lincolnshire has been attacked and denied its ‘outstanding’ rating by government quango Ofsted because the pupils are “too English.

The fact that these English children have not been forcibly indoctrinated into multiculturalism yet means they fall short of Ofsted standards.

Until now, Middle Rasen has been overlooked by the government ‘enrichment’ programme, with the town’s population holding out at 97% white.

Middle Rasen Primary is an embarrassment for the racist Ofsted quango. It proves that schools don’t need their politically correct meddling to produce very bright and able children.

Ofsted's own report, which it has since tried to play down, highly praised the school “for its management and teaching, plus its well-behaved, courteous and enthusiastic pupils, but can only award it a "Good" rating.

by all means encourage children to visit a mosque and learn if they wish

about eid and rammadan as part of their education about other cultures

or even take part in it as a guest but we dont need a racist quango like ofstead to force it down our throats if we are to respect their cultures they should respect ours and the playing field should be level at all times.

There's several aspects to this.

First of all demographics. The problem with OFSTED Is that many schools do not have such a high percentage of white English children. In many parts of the country such as cities like Leicester and Bradford, the stats are In reverse with white English the minority. The dictate for OFSTED Is the same over the country and when you combine national stats and not Individual stats, OFSTED has a format to Include diversity In schools all over the country.

I agree with you on that schools should be rated Individually on their merits and not as a national dictate. By the same token, schools with 96 % ethnic pupils should be gauged Individually just as others.

However, they do need to pay attention to demographics. Of course, If It;s an area that see's little In the way of ethnic communities, It Is ridiculous to judge a school on lack of ethnic children.

The system needs an over-haul.

I am lucky in that I went to naturally intregrated schools, Old enough to not have to suffer climbing a buss and travel across town just to be resented at the school house door.

I'd agree with you 100%. Faith schools are at the heart of the problem, more so than race imo, and it's not just muslim schools in scotland and northern ireland seperate catholic schools perpetuate the divide put kids in the same schools and keep religion out of it kids don't care about such things they have to be indoctrinated in the idea people of other faiths or no faith are inferior.

Government schools should not show favoritism as far as race, religion etc etc. Children should go to their local schools to learn the basics.

I have a problem with restricting parents having the choice of where to send their kids to school or to home school.

I had an incredibly good public education, from kindergarten through college, although I ended up graduating from NYU, a private institution. So did my son. Amazingly good. I guess it depends where you live. For example, my husband turned down a high paying job in a Southern Racist State as his son's education was a primary consideration. As a child we could have moved to Miami, but the South was segregated legally back then & my dad didn't want his girls growing up in that atmosphere.

I'm a progressive left-wing person who supports neighborhood schools. Young children shouldn't be travelling, & should be in class with the kids they will be playing with after school, IMO. But that means improving all neighborhood schools & that costs money that people don't want to spend. Specialized schools should begin in High School, IMO, when the young person is starting to think of his/her future & is mature enough to travel. Someone's making a buck off this present system.

So, stop your generalizing. Busing was started as a temporary solution to a real problem. It was designed to fail by the powers that be.

You must have noticed programs, once begun, are almost impossible to stop. And that goes for Conservative as well as Liberal. You see heaven in conservative rule, but it's all the same, any government is under the control of Not the People.

The report can be downloaded and read at leisure, I have only scanned it, but the closest to OFSTED slating the school, is the part that says......direct quote....

The large majority of pupils are White British. Very few are from other ethnic groups, and currently no pupils speak English as an additional language
And OFSTED's recommendation for improving the school says.....direct quote.....

Extend pupils’ understanding of the cultural diversity of modern British society by creating opportunities for them to have first-hand interaction with their counterparts from different backgrounds beyond the immediate locality.

The objection by the BNP Is nothing to do with ethnic children In our schools but OFSTED marking down a school because It has a 97 % white, British Intake.

In this case, OFSTED have praised the school on other aspects but marked them down due to lack of ethnic children.

That statement Is correct. The lack of ethnic children In this school Is due to not having a large ethnic community In that area so of course, the children are going to be In the main, English. What does OFSTED think they should do ? Bus In ethnic children just to fill the quota ?

If, as In some parts of the country, the ethnic percentage of children In a school Is 97 % ethnic as some are, then those schools are more likely to cater for the ethnic children In that area. Yet, by the same token, If a school has 97 % English children, then they will cater for the majority.

If In some area's there Is a very high percentage of ethnic children In a school, then they will cater for them to the detriment of the few English children.

It Is the system of OFSTED the BNP are critisizing. If they have a formula and a school Is awarded points for how many ethnic children they have and the diversity In classes, then It's ridiculous to mark down a school because It happens to be In a predominantly White British area.

Everyone else gets that. You see what you want to see and put your own slant on It, because that makes you feel you know how our Party thinks,

My question is, then, exactly where does it state that the reason it is being marked down (if, indeed, it is)? I've looked at it and it shows that the marking from the previous report was "Requires Improvement", whereas it is now marked as "Good". Now I could be wrong, but I see that as marking UP.

Putting aside all the media hype, one should consider the ethnicity of the region before claiming that Ofsted are saying that the school is "too white", when it doesn't say anything of the sort. It merely states a fact about the proportionate levels compared to UK averages by stating that it has a lower than average ethnic diversity. Well look at the ethnic diversity of Middle Rasen before blamin Ofsted for recording this fact.

If Ofsted were to report that a school in Birmingham had a higher than average Asian diversity, would that be marking the school down for being too Asian? Of course not. The schools merely reflect the diversity of the local population.

As usual it's all a matter of not letting the facts get in the way of a good story.

In that case why aren't they suggesting they get the welsh, irish northern english and scottish involved so that children predominantly anglo-saxon in origin acquire a better understanding of the celtic and scandanavian racial groups that make up the diversity of the modern british society. I prefer to forgive them their best intentions, than their critics over zealous nit picking....................but that's just me.

Do not see that If you have a school In Bradford with 97 % of the children being ethnic, then those children's classes and teachings are going to be about subjects relating to their ethnicity, culture and heritage ?

Likewise If you have a school of 97 % of English children, they are hardly going to be educated In the main about Pakistan.

Schools naturally will set their teachings around what caters for the majority of pupils.

You're missing the point... Anyone can put their own Interpretation on any article. Whether It's the BNP or The Telegraph, they have a right to an opinion. To quote a much used phrase, you just don't get it do you.

In a school of 97% ethnic background, then focussing on ethnic culture would be superfluous, as it already includes life experiences. However, it would be expected to focus on British cultures - something you have always been too eager to slate when schools fall short of doing that (which is EXACTLY the opposite of what you are complaining about here).

The school in question is more than 97% white & the criticism (not a mark down) is that due to the lack of ethnic diversity in the region (not just the school, which is bound to be a natural reflection of the regional population) that the children should be made more aware of other cultures - especially those which go to make up the average ethnic diversity of the rest of the UK. Even if the school was 100% white, then it would be quite right & to be expected that they be taught about such things as Islam, Ramadan, Chinese New Year, etc. These are all parts of everyday life in the real world. By not covering these subjects enough (note, 'enough', not 'at all') then they would be fallling short of expectations.

As Bruv has pointed out, where the original source is available, then refering to biased media reports, regardless of in which way they may be biased simply demonstrates a lack of ability to form an opinion of your own. Obviously, with an already biased attitude, then the report will be interpreted in whatever way you want to read it - glass half empty / half full. However, the report seems very clear to me that they have marked it as having improved from previous inspections, with just a few minor comments for potential improvement, yet the Nationalist Brigade choose to home in on that one tiny comment & blow it all out of proportion as per usual.

You are missing the point that schools are rated on their diversity. If they are scored extra for diversity, then why do you not grasp that equally they are downgraded for not being diverse enough ?

I have read the report, the (actual report) NOT the interpretations of the report, and I can only see improvement from the previous one.

And yet if you Google OFSTED market rasen.......you get mass mis-interpretations of the report.

The school of 104 pupils has upgraded from a mark of 3 (Requires improvement) to a 2 (Good) on Overall Effectiveness (Of the school)

In the section What does the school need to do to improve further? the Report says......

IF the school were in, say a typical 60% white region & still had a 97% white ethnic diversity, then yes, there would be cause to raise issues about being an unbalanced ethnic diversity, just as it would be if the region were 60% black / asian region but still had a 97% black / Asian mix, then issues would also be raised accordingly. If there were a school, say, in Bradfors, where the ethnic culture is primarily Asian that had a 97% white diversity, then questions would be raised, as it would clearly be going against the regional diversity. But the point you seem to be missing is that the region is 97% white & the schools is also, not surprisingly, 97% white. The point is not that there isn't enough ethnic diversity in the school, but the fact that because they aren't in a position to experience ethnic diversity first hand, then more attention should be paid to TEACH them about it, with the suggestion to introduce the children to other regions, so as to interact with other cultures, such as on a field trip.

There is no mark down anywhere in the report on such a matter. Any interpretation to that effect is purely in a biased viewpoint that wants to see such things that aren't there.

That refers to the local ethnic diversity as a whole - not the school. It is a fact that the region has a much higher white population than is typical across the rest of the country. Of course their cultural development would be limited if left to their own experiences as they would know nothing of the rest of the country if they were not taught about it. It has absolutely nothing to do with the school not being ethnic enough, and nowhere in the report does it say so.

Yes, just as children living in an idyllic rural neighbourhood, with single track country lanes should be left to languish in their paradise & not instill into them the dangers of how to cross a busy road.

These ARE things that WILL affect their lives, and to simply turn a blind eye to it & deny it exists, as you suggest, would be totally wrong.
