Advert Catch Phrases
I'm not quite sure why, but I recently found myself thinking about catch phrases used in adverts through the years, and it's surprising how so many stick in your mind, despite your not having seen them for years - although some are timeless & may still be used these days.
Here are some (I'll not include the makes - see how many you can identify).
Ahhh... (an easy one to get started with)
Every little helps (another easy one)
.... Is good for you.
Who knows the secret.....
And all because the lady loves....
Probably the best......
"No, Luton Airport"!
Not a phrase, but a tune... Bach's Air on a 'G' String.
And another tune... "Going Home", from the "New World Symphony".
...Helps You Work Rest & Play.
Can you tell the difference between...
"Fly Fishing", by J. R. Hartley.
"Mummy, why are your hands so soft?"
...The best a man can get.
.... Dry Foam
Splash it all over!
"Mind the bannisters, son".
"Ho, ho, ho!" (No, not Father Christmas)
"Bermuda looks nice" ... "Simon, Bermuda"
For Mash Get...
...And get the freshness back.
"I'm a secret lemonade drinker"
It's frothy man!
Finally...
"Satisfy your lust for power" (see if you can get this one without Googling it).

03, 18, 19 & 24 wrong.
The last one is a toughie, but quite funny, seen with the modern eye.
On the whole, though, it shows how effective the advertising used to be, on a much lower budget than it is now.
Incidentally, the "Bermuda Looks Nice" one was "Tahiti Looks Nice" in the American version.

How about these ones then - Colours assosiated with brand advertising. I'm afraid I didn't do too well here. Only 3 right (and 2 of them were guesses).
