Time to lose weight..

Ever had a defining moment In your life when you realised you should lose weight?

I'm not a size zero skinny but I am comfortable In my own skin.

I am a little overweight so now and then, I do think about losing a few pounds.

Some people realise they need to lose weight when they see themselves In a photograph at an unflattering angle or when they realise they have to lay on the bed to zip the denims up.... but my moment was none of these. My defining moment tonight was when I witnessed something I had never seen before In all my days.

So when you go Into your bedroom to fetch something and you find your small Jack Russell dog curled up asleep In one of the cups of your bra... that's definately the defining moment for me to lose weight.

I've reached the point where I've given up on my diet. Despite torturing myself with my diet regime and even having been on weight loss meds, prescribed by my GP, nothing more has happened. I lost 30kg, and then nothing. No matter what I did it remained static, or even continued to go up, so I've got past the point of caring any more.

Now, bring on the pizzas.

Cup size is not really an indication you should lose weight, & I don't think it can be reduced by diet or even exercise.

Trouble Is, If I lose weight I don't want to see my cup size which Is, at the moment, still relatively somewhere near my chin and make their way down to my knee's rather like an aging Spaniels ears.

I don't think lobsters will make you fat even six of them together................it's what you put on them

Already cooked and frozen? Or do you plan to keep them alive that long?

Cooked and frozen by the local Fishmonger Lars... I'm not that brave to cook live one's... they'd end up living with me forever.

I've already placed my Christmas Order for Traditional English Country Wines (not Grape ones) - £100 worth. Blackbeer & Raisin, Ginger, Strawberry, Damson, Garden Mead, etc...

Mind you, I've still got a few left over from last year. I'm not a heavy drinker, as you can imagine. Heavy - yes. Heavy Drinker - no.

Peter and I are not boozers so at Christmas we go for some decent red wine and champagne with dinner. He likes a bottle of Port and I always buy him a decent Scottish Malt whiskey.

However, It Is the one time of the year I get through copious amounts of Bailey's Irish Creme and Advocat.

I like the sound of your wines... might look out for them... where did you get them ?

Specialist country wines, ciders, sparkling fruit wines, fruit liqueurs, preserves and gifts from Lyme Bay Winery

And very reasonable prices.

The Blackbeer & Raisin is gorgeous & more like a liquer.

The Garden Mead is particularly good. You can identify several garden herbs from the nose alone - in particular the overtones of mint.

Oscar, I love the way you have written that!

Although I have the problem just the other way around. I lost 4 kilo's in 2,5 weeks during my stay in Ireland running after my brothers kids and I do not gain weight very easily. And my jeans just keep sagging down even with a belt at the moment. Hoping christmas will sort that :wah:

The most important thing is being happy in your own skin, just like you said..

On a side note: I just checked on the bmi thing and I am appalled at how low my weight is "allowed" to be before being underweight. That just seems so unhealthy.

Oscar, what are you going to make with the 6 lobsters? The lobster as it is and butter sauce? Sorry i am a bit out of my whatsit with things from the sea. I have never eaten lobster before.

The only difference I've ever been able to tell the difference between crab & lobster (apart from the shape, of course) is that crabs are a lot cheaper - the taste is just the same.

Crabs tend to be a bit more work to extract an edible quantity of food, and most crabs actually have more flavor. If you are only eating the legs from the big guys, like King Crab, you are probably right about the taste being the same.

I prefer Shrimp and Crawfish, myself.
