Do you go in for Secret Santa?
I was involved in one once, and was an insulting experience. I bought my Secret Santa colleague a Crystal Glassware set & received, in return, a Neoprene Belt from the Pound Shop.
I am glad to say that at this office it's been decided that instead of doing a Secret Santa that we all contribute £5 & donate it to charity. The one that's been decided on is one for the Homeless in Southampton:

Yeah me too. It's funny how people seem to lose all sense of taste and style when they buy presents for a fellow worker.

Secret Santa
In my office at work, we are not required to purchase gifts for one another. But, since we work in the Personnel office at a poultry plant, I will sometimes give little gifts with a poultry theme. Coffee mugs, fridge magnets, memo holders, Christmas tree ornaments, tea towels, costume jewelry...stuff like that. Something fun.

Donating is a excellent idea.
I hate the Secret Santa B.S..
I bought a wine rack & a set of 4 wine glasses in return I received some cheap stinking perfume.
soooo thoughtless - cheap & I have to continue to work next to you.!! really.
Donating & bypassing the gift exchange is good for me..
Merry Christmas

Talking of unwanted gifts but make no mistake that I do feel ungrateful and a b.itch about this. A pal of my husbands bought our dog one of those hideous Christmas dog outfits.
Has he ever In all the years seen me dress my dogs up In some wanky outfit ? No. Yet this person decided I should.
So I then have to get this wanky outfit on my dog just so not to hurt his feelings, and post a pic on Facebook to appease him before I can throw the monstrosity In the bin forever.
My little dog was not amused and we had to have quite a fight before I finally got It on. In the pic, her expression Is saying ' you've made me look a right tit'.
