Why children ...

Then again........I remember as a young boy, a bit of a sickly wimp to be honest, I was picked on by the girl down the road.

What shame.... a girl could make me cry, I must have been 7 or 8 she was maybe 12 or 13, but after weeks of being pinched and pricked with thorny sticks, I rebelled and lobbed a large stone that hit her forehead and made it bleed.

I ran home frightened to death afraid of reprisals. Apart from a loud discussion at the front door between our mothers, as I quivered under the kitchen table, there was no come back.

I was able to play without fear, plus I had a spring in my step.

It is not always that simple though.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

My daughter did get pushed far enough to actually stand up to the girl one day, the girl was telling her friend that she was going to smash my girl's head into the wall, so my daughter stood in front of her and challenged her to do so. The bully sputtered and walked away. Since then the main bully has given her no trouble at all. The problem seems to be with all those around now who are desperately trying to keep the nastiness going by stirring it all up constantly! Luckily my girl and the original bully have exchanged a message on facebook agreeing that they don't have to like each other very much but that they will tolerate one another. A visit to the deputy head recently by me seems to have stopped all the others from their stirring the pot too. Long may it continue ( I hope!)

When I first heard this story .. the two girls were best friends ..

The two girls ended up in a quarrel like teenagers do .. .. that is when the mother step in and

became Josh ..

Bad enough the children bully each other .. a parent had to get involved ..

If that mother would have stayed out of it .. maybe that girl would still be living today ..
