Smiles of time.................................

Have you ever watched your child or grandchild sleep? My son is going to be 14 and when he sleeps his face is still 3 years old. The best part no matter how big and bad and cool they try to be(struggling to find who they are) he still wants me to rub his back or his ears or his head until he falls asleep. Is that cool or what.

Isnt it amazing no matter how old your child/grandchild gets parts of them will never change. When fall comes around I have ALOT of spiced candles lit all the time and he came in a couple weeks ago and said "Hey mama, I love when you do this, it reminds me of Christmas" I have candles all year round but its the spice ones that bring memories, and oh yeah, We put our Christmas tree up the day after Halloween. Why, my ex was a ba-humbug, and when we moved out on our own when he was a tiny tot, he wanted Christmas to be now.........! His little pouty lips and teary eyes were more than I could stand. So every year thats when we put it up.

Smiles of time.................................

When I had my daughter 37 yrs ago (1st of 3) I used to spend loads of time watching her sleep, treasured her first proper smile, was amazed at her first words etc. Once number 2 and 3 came along life was manic ( 3 kids under 5)and I couldn't enjoy these treasured moments to the same degree.

However when the granchildren came along, I was again able to enjoy these moments again.....never know, there may be great grandchildren for me to enjoy one day !

Maybe I have yet to feel those first maternal twinges, but when I look at babies sleep my only thought is that I'm grateful they're not screaming, crying or spitting up. I kind of think those same things when I see my dad, boyfriend or brother sleeping.

Come on guys, what about their chubby cheeks, and 1/2 drooped eyelids, and how they tighten their grip when you go to lay them down. Pure angels of heaven they are. Even though I am turning grey over the teenage years, I wish my guy was triplets. I love him so.
