Sad day. I have enjoyed watching Coronation Street for many years and Corrie won't be the same without Anne. I think she's left a big hole. Sad for her family and sad for the cast and all those behind the cameras. Did she have quite a time off a few years ago because she had cancer? Maybe it came back, poor woman.

Many years ago, my very young niece ( about 14 at the time ) had a crush on Simon Gregson who plays Steve McDonald. My brother got her a tour of the studio's as a birthday gift where she met him and many others. She came back telling us that Liz Dawn was a grumpy miserable old bat and the lovliest was Anne Kirkbride who took time to chat with her and make her laugh. Oh and apparently, Bill Tarmey was absolutely lovely to her also. I met Bill once on a rally. Top sorted geezer.
