America's First Terrorist Organization

It was the KKK (Ku Klux Klan) which was formed during Re Construction after the Civil War 1866 and unfortunately lasted almost 100 years. To the best of my knowledge it was the only-organization that could truly be called Terrorist that the U.S. has ever had.

The organization still exists but is impotent as far as terrorist activities are concerned. Many of their members have finally come to realize that they are not Socially Acceptable.

I hope you're right TD ! Organisations originally formed as a rather nasty anti whatever, have quite often still, deep down, got those original feelings even though they now try to persuade people that they 'have changed' and now realise that it is totally wrong to behave as they used to.

KKK gets no airplay, but yet that vile Al Sharpton gets the ear of our President and other politicos. Not to mention a show on MSNBC

They have just changed their name.....The Knights Party, they explain lots about the misgivings about their past, how it wasn't burning crosses (bad) it was actually cross lighting (good)........you really couldn't make it up......it is frightening.

Their number one goal......To Stop White Genocide They also feel the need to explain that they don't hate or kill black people.

I am glad our nutters don't have guns.

Terrorism is relative.

The the British running post war Palestine in the 40s Moshe Dyan and his compatriots were terrorists. To the Zionists they were heros.

Bin Laden and the Mujahadeen were heroes and friends of the Americans when they were blowing up Soviets.

When the started blowing up Americans they were terrorists.

Same for Ho hi Min. When he and his friends were blowing up Japanese, they were heros.

When Pickens and Marion and their fellows pestered Cornwallis all the way to Yorktown, they were considered nothing but terrorists by the local Tories.

I was going to agree with you that terrorism is in the eyes of the beholder, then I noticed something. In each of those examples, there was a war going on and the "terrorists" were only killing other combatants.

My definition of "terrorist" is someone who wages war on civilians on purpose. (stray bombs and missiles notwithstanding.) That's why I consider Hamas a terrorist organization and not Israel. Hamas fired missiles indiscriminately at civilian targets, while Israel tried to only target the combatants.

Doesn't help at all, as for some, the same one group calls terrorist, the other calls freedom fighter. Usually, it's the winner who is called the freedom fighter, but no one gives up anymore, fight on forever, so that's moot.

To Israel Hamas are terrorists, to Hamas Israel are........whatever outside observers think the differences are.
