I am not obsessed with personal grooming.............honestly.
My previous thread about beards is purely chance.
Why the present fashion for indelible irremovable tattoos ?
Today I saw a young man with a splendid design, I do appreciate a good design, some tattoos are real works of art......no seriously.
But why did he have to disfigure himself by getting this art work plastered up his neck snaking from below his shirt , curling over his lower jaw, and onward and upward ,over cheek, onward across his temple, ending in a subtle curly cue flick on his forehead ?
Why do they do it ?

As with all forms of bodily mutilation, I find it grotesque. All those pretty vivid colours will eventually turn a dirty blue / black. How many pretty young girls consider what they will look like when they're middle aged, covered in scrawls?

Why? The same reason why my generation took to LSD and heroine like puppies to the tit: Because “EVERYBODY was doing it – it was “COOL - and they thought that it would have no consequences.

I was guilty of 'making my own statement' by wearing my hair long for most of my life, but......I could always get it cut if need be.
A phase of drug taking or drinking is just that for most people, a phase, something you grow out of sooner or later with most times only a few drawbacks, unless you are very unlucky.
If this young fellow was a sailor on a whaler in pursuit of Moby Dick or perhaps a Maori shaping up for the Haka, I could understand, but he was shopping for a can of baked beans in a UK super market..........so so sad.

That's what every O.D. and junkie said about heroin.

The ones I feel sorry for are the ones who get their idols names tattooed all over their bodies, only to see them fall from grace. Imagine being permanently scarred with "Gary Glitter Forever", or "I Love Rolf Harris". The same sort of thing can be said about couples who get tattooed with each other's names - only to have the relationships go pear-shaped.

What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?
She had the black vote all locked up.

“Forethought is the key. That's why I have Geo. Bush. Jr, Donald Rumsfeld , Tony Blair, Silvio Berlusconi, and Fredrik Reinfeldt tattooed on my ass. :yh_angel :yh_shhhh
