This whole thing makes me so sick to my stomach I can't make any comments right now.

"LONDON (Reuters) - Investigators believe that the "Jihadi John" masked fighter who fronted Islamic State beheading videos is a British man named Mohammed Emwazi, two U.S. government sources said on Thursday..........

He was born in Kuwait and comes from a prosperous family in London......."

I'm not over my nausea, & I've never watched the films of Isis executions, but have seen the stills of the man, or men, lined up on their knees with the assassin standing over them. The victims look so calm. Since I won't watch the videos, I don't know if their demeanor(s) changed.

I can't understand that, no kicking or screaming I mean. Can someone explain this for me? From the stills, it appears the victims went without any fight. Is this true? I'll say again, I won't look for myself.

I was just reading about this same topic. I can only assume his family is in protective custody.

It's the sadistic, one-on-one cruelty that gets me. The callousness, the coldness, the Ice of this man. This goes well beyond fighting for your cause, even to your own death. It's so disgusting to me, like he enjoys his "job."

I am reading a book UNBROKEN. It is about a guy who survived two and a half years in Japanese POW camps. A lot of the book deals with the question you asked. I wish there was simple answer, but not so.

This is the video of the 21 Coptic Christians who were beheaded. It is quite a slick production. What I see is total resignation on the victims as they are escorted along the waters of the Mediterranean.

It is worth a watch just to see the faces of the victims. The slaughter begins shortly after the short speech. Plenty of time to avoid seeing what happens next.

I have a different take on it.

How sure about his convictions can a man be, that can kill with his own hands ?

Kill 'hands on' and feel their victim's heart pounding,hear the breathe rasping from heaving chest then watching the blood spurt from the wound you have just inflicted.

I have a mixture of respect and stomach churning fear for such a god given belief.

Not me. No respect. Not even fear, I don't think. I just want him gone. I'm thinking he must be a psychopath. I don't even know if a belief even fits anymore. If it is belief, it is a belief that is now ruled by some type of insanity.

I think of the kids that they are lining up and having them participate. I don't think that has anything to do with god.

And shouldn't Israel be leading the rescue attempts?

Is intense hatred some type of personality disorder? Isn't such self-aggrandizement some type of delusion? Were the high ranking Nazi's, the SS, insane? Probably not. Here, I answered my own question. They all knew right from wrong. Most probably functioned in society, had families.

So maybe not insane, but certainly disrupted mentally. This Jihadi John is not behaving like a soldier but a butcher.

Absolutely NOT! It is the Muslim governments. Israel goes through enough wars & should not, would not enter unless they feel immediately threatened.

Why should Israel be the Angel of Rescue for the very people who deny their existence & right to statehood? I would think the Israeli's want them all to kill each other off. Jews don't believe in Sainthood.

The Careers side of the company I work for is a very small part of what they do. We are primarily involved in running charity funded schools around the world (including ones in the U.K.). Regrettably we have already had to close our schools & withdraw our staff from such countries as Jordan & Syria because of the obvious dangers. This leads me to wonder why non-nationals of those countries choose to put themselves in such danger in the first place. I reckon if I were in that situation I'd be booking my ticket to the nearest safe country until it all blew over.

True. And whatever Israel tried to do would just fan the flames against them. Many of the Moslems would suddenly see IS as the new weapon against Israel.
