New Advance In Transplant Surgery

Something that seems pretty obvious really. After all, it's not uncommon for people to be kept on life support after Brain Death has been determined, so as to preserve the organs. I imagine this to be much the next step.

Van der Merwe told the Times that skin from the inside of the patient’s leg and tattooing were used to match the colour of the transplanted penis to the recipient’s pigmentation.
I presume this means that the donor was White & the recipient was Black, as I doubt the reverse would work.

Thats what I assumed too. I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole process but then I'm not in the position of the recipient. I do, though, find it interesting that the surgeon has been contacted by someone who wishes their penis removed and has offered it as an organ donation

Both stories highlight the advances in medicine and are both heartening

When I see news like this, it proves we are far too clever for our own good.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth
