Mediterranean boat tragedy

Post by Bruv »

Hundreds of people are feared to have drowned after a boat carrying up to 700 migrants capsized in the Mediterranean Sea

What do we have to do ?

Farage correctly said it was our interference that has helped cause this exodus, he has to be right sometimes.

Do we just open the doors, or do we stop and return them with an EU Naval operation ?

When I saw the news report on this, the first thing I saw was someone being interviewed saying that his plan was to go & study medicine in England. Nothing about having safely arrived on free soil - where, by International Law is where he should claim refugee status. He already has his next move planned.

Seems to me a lot of these people are from places like Syria via Lebanon and Libya. I saw a news cast from CNN yesterday about a boat load of women and children fleeing form those places.

Hmmmm. Qadaffi is an evil dictator, lets blow up the country leave it in ruins to be run by vicious gangs of thugs. Who did that? Assad is an evil despicable dictator who has to oppress his people blah blah. Let's blow him up too. Who wanted that? Seems to me the EU and the EUs master owe a lot of these people for having destroyed their lives. The recent conflicts of the "Arab Spring" so fervently doted upon by the western powers has a dark side. Whodathunkit?

Libya, even though it was a dictatorship had a stable society that people could live in. Syria was the same way. Now Libya is a failed state and Syria is in a civil war that has no end in sight.

They say the EU is increasing a naval presence for rescue and to possibly target the traffickers ships....................but the amount will be less than last year when Italy was doing it alone.

I think it describes her very well. Nothing to apologise for. If anyone is doing a grave disservice to women, its her. She's offensive, divisive, racist with nothing of any worth to say

I agree. I think the West interferes way too much in other nations affairs, usually to the detriment of the local population, who, quite naturally feel they have been badly treated! Whenever there has been "regime change", there has followed a power vacuum which is filled with warring factions, I.S.,and a whole host of other dangerous groups.Sure, dictators are bad, but the alternatives can be even worse!
