I just recently discovered "Ted Talks" and now I am hooked. It's a series of 10 to 15 minute talks on a wide range of subjects where the speakers have all been pre-screened for quality of performance and content.

I try to take in at least on TED Talk a week. Been too busy this last month.

I heard of Ted Talk and found it interesting to browse.
Wasn't until this past weekend I heard of a talk which presented a practical and postive effect on my everyday life.
It is a reletively new problem which for some reason hasn't presented itself until this past winter. Every winter I loose my sneakers and put on hicking shoes/boots. They rise ubove my ankles and have loops and hooks. Think I had this problem somewhat last year but I bought a new pair and seems I can't go anywhere wiithout this annoyance.
Well, Ted Talk to the rescue. Today went to the store, walked the dog and pattered around the yard with no problem.

When tying a bow all you are doing is tying a double slipped reef knot and as long as you follow the rule for that knot (the same strand goes on top in each half so left over right, right over left or vice verca) then you get a reef knot rather than a granny knot.

Had to look up Reef Knot and found I know that as a 'square knot'.
Over my life and different jobs learned a number of knots which to me remain nameless.

That's a great link - I've never come across the thief knot or grief knot before.
Where's some string, I need to practice.
