Man on naked bike ride gets ejected after becoming aroused

A cyclist was hauled from the start line of a naked bike race and spoken to by police following reports that he had an erection.

He was 'ordered by stewards to put his jeans on'. You would have thought that would have been his first action.

It is unfortunate I know, but some men find difficulty in disguising emotional thoughts, unlike women ! Perhaps somebody in the crowd could have thrown cold water on the poor guy ! :lips:

It's almost uneventful when one's riding with an upright posture. It's crouching forward over the drop bars and swaying the bike left and right while remaining low against the saddle that causes subsequent comment, with phrases like "I feel like I may have pulled something" and "I'll be stiff for a week" most prominent.

I heard gasps and I turned around - it was a horrible sight.

Quite unbelievable reactions, I fully expected the next sentence to read 'the man was tossing himself off' which may have explained the gasps and disgust!

Shouldn't everyone have just ignored it and let him enjoy the ride. No pun intended!

He obviously had a problem. Why nobody offered to give him a hand I've no idea.

Me, madam? A man who could make so vile a pun would not scruple to pick a pocket.

Reminds me of the Max Miller joke.........

I was walking along this narrow mountain pass - so narrow that nobody else could pass you, when I saw a beautiful blonde walking towards me. A beautiful blonde with not a stitch on, yes, not a stitch on, lady. Cor blimey, I didn't know whether to toss myself off or block her passage

There's actually a cyclist who rides through Southampton every year stark naked & always gets arrested, but as with this incident, it's not actually illegal, so they've got nothing to charge him with. However, this leads me to wonder if he might be able to sue the Police for Wrongful Arrest, as it is accepted that he wasn't doing anything illegal.

The Public Order Act 1986. Section 5(1) provides:

"(1) A person is guilty of an offence if he:

(a) uses threatening [or abusive] words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or

(b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening [or abusive],

within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby."

The police need to produce a person to declare that he or she was within sight of the nude cyclist's genitalia and was distressed at the sight. That makes the public nudity disorderly behaviour. The offended person might, of course, be a police officer, or someone with access to CCTV showing the event.
