What does Cameron want from the Muslim community?

And is there is a Muslim community, as in a homogeneous speaking with one voice community ?

He does have a point in some ways how is it the fault of the police if people decide to fight for isis and why is it up to them to stop them leaving the country you can't monitor everybody and there's no reason why you should. That trhe fathers didn't know what their wives were planning is a bit hard to believe then they blame the authorities for not stopping them.

Mr Cameron said: "The cause is ideological. It is an Islamist extremist ideology, one that says the West is bad, that democracy is wrong, that women are inferior, that homosexuality is evil.

"It says religious doctrine trumps the rule of law and Caliphate trumps nation state and it justifies violence in asserting itself and achieving its aims. The question is: How do people arrive at this worldview?"

So does the catholic church and come to that quite a few protestant ones the difference is we had the protestant reformation and the age of enlightenment and religious authority is one people can choose to follow.

Actually, that part doesn't surprise me at all. Don't forget the culture of Gender Segregation among Islam. Women are just there for reasons of procreation & tending the home. They are not for interacting with. They're not even allowed to pray together. The men keep them in their little pseudo harems. It is little wonder then that their husbands don't get to know what happens among them.

There were Brits fighting in various European conflicts because they felt it right to do so.

It is not like these two families will be coming back here anytime soon, but if they do can't we deal with them then ?

And if they did return, what a propaganda victory ?

The only way we can combat this is to educate.

Teens, by nature, tend to be rebellious & eager to find some way in which to rebel. When presented with the Holy Grail of Death or Glory there's more likelihood that they will jump at the chance.

Especially if they're being quietly "radicalised" online in the privacy of their own bedroom. Who would know? Probably only the authorities with their "snooper's charter"...
