Another runway ?

Post by Bruv »

Every ten minutes it gets debated, where to put the extra capacity for aircraft in the UK.

What is the problem with the prestige, once and for all, economy boosting Boris Island ?

Whatever the choice Gatwick or Heathrow, it will only be temporary, upset thousands of people's lives, why not build a custom built scalable prestige project and snatch some of the European freight market too ?

Then let's do it properly then, think really big, build three extra while we are at it. Make sure we get freedom of movement right, don't forget we can leave too.

Why would those from the EU want to fly in ?

Airports earn more money than railway tracks to nowhere.

Look where the highest populations of immigrants are. Near airports.

Off the top of my head. It's just up the road from Burnley International Airport.

Heathrow had 73 million passengers last year. Would anyone like to guess the percentage of those who were immigrants, EU or otherwise? We could make a poll of it except it would be silly.

10%?

1%?

0.1%?

0.01%

0.001%

0.0001%

Would we like to just describe it perhaps as "a very very very small proportion"?

Do we really think a third runway would affect that immigration total through Heathrow, or are we simply innumerate.
