Feel sorry for all the holiday makers that are evident in and around these parts. This area in particular is not very good at providing alternatives to the beach when the weather is bad.

It's all character building though, being stuck in a chalet/caravan/tent/ hotel room while it pours with rain outside.

In scotland schools break up at the end of june, july is the holiday period in a couple of weeks schools will be returning. There is a three or four week difference in the seasons between one end of the country and the other august always seems like the end of summer to me rather than the height of it. May/june is th best time to come up here if you are thinkiong of a holiday - few tourists and the medges aren't out yet.
