I think a lot of Americans still think they are living in the times of Billy the Kid, Butch Cassidy, Augustine Chacon, the Clantons, the James gang, etc. Perhaps they have been brainwashed by their own recent history. Seems the law of the gun is still rife in America!

The funny thing is that, unlike the portrayal in the movies, in many of those "wild west" towns you had to check your guns at the sheriff's office when coming into town and pick them up when you left.
