I haven't heard anything about him, Bruv. Perhaps he's on holiday ? But you would have thought he would have said something like he won't be online for a while, but not telling the world at large that he will be on holiday for x days (thinking of security here)

I've just checked his profile and his last post was on Friday 21 August. However it does say that his 'last activity' was 29 August - that only means that he logged online but didn't necessarily do any posting anywhere on the site. So, hopefully, FourPart is OK.
You start worrying about him having a motorbike accident or falling ill and being carted off to hospital ! Perhaps he's steering clear of all the religious threads !

Let us hope it is the aversion to the god squad and not something bad......god forbid (whoops)

Hopefully we'll see him again soon! Had a few interesting chats with him about various things. Hope he's OK.
If the religious stuff has put him of, it wouldn't surprise me in the least! Talk about 'omni-present'....! So few 'posters',yet so many similar threads....
There are millions of possibilities for such single-topic threads in the Bible alone, let alone other religious books....Maybe FG should be re-named 'Forum Garden Of Eden-Lost'....!

Considering he rides a motor bike and has spoke of other problems, it is a concern.

Yes it is, Bruv. I like FourPart, and have had several very interesting chats with him about Mars, Atlantis and various other topics. I hope all is well with him. Maybe he's on holiday? Hope that's all it is!

It's ok - I'm still here. Mind you, I must say I'm very pleasantly surprised to see the comments made about my absence. I honestly didn't think anyone would notice.
With one thing & another things have been hectic in FourPartopia. The thing that has made the biggest impact of all, on the down side is that it is now official that I am being made redundant from this job that I love so much, due to a company restructure, despite us all being told that there would be absolutely NO redundancies & that at worst there would be just a change of Job Description. We are now told that there will be alternative vacancies - fewer than there are of us, and that we would have to apply for these posts, which will also be advertised externally & that we will have to competitively interview for them. It seems ironic that I am to be made redundant from a job where my job was to help people into work. There are also a lot of other members of staff who are getting out while the going's good, and one day last week, I was feeling pretty low as it was, when they did the send off of one of the longest remaining members (if you remember my mentioning the Xmas do, when I left my wallet at home - she was the one who subbed me £20), it was more than I could take, and I folded - the Aspergers kicked in, and I was huddled in the corner in an utter state of confusion, in tears. Fortunately all of my colleagues are aware of my condition & handled things really well, with my manager pulling me out of things by forcing me to focus by getting me to talk about the choir, although it's still a bad experience to have to go through, and demonstrates how much I love the job. Plus Trish, who has been my advocate throughout when I was having problems with the Council a few months back is also leaving in the next couple of weeks. We've been given leave to shut the phones off an hour early on the 18th so we can all go down the pub for a proper send off. I just hope I'll be able to cope with that.
On the positive side, however, I have an assessment for another job with Capita, who are the contractors for the admin side of the Council, where I would be doing much the same as I'm doing now, only it pays more, and is more central. I have no problems about the assessment, though, as it's just a matter of Literacy, Numeracy, IT Literacy, the ability to write an eMail, the ability to use an Online Diary, and the ability to communicate over the telephone - every element of which I do every day in my current position.
I am also up & running with Marcus (the new bike), and have passed my Theory Test & have completed my CBT. Although my instructor agrees that I'm easily up to taking the practical tests now, he says that if I do so I will only be entitled to ride a 125cc. However, if I take the Roadcraft Course first, then I will be able to go for any size. It does cost a further £800 for a 4 - 5 day course (bike hire & test fees included), but hey - it's something I've always wanted to do.
Ironically, though, if I do get this new job, I won't be using the bike to get to & from work, as it would be more practical to use the bus (every 10 mins from here) - although it would take longer, and would cost more, but it would mean that I wouldn't have to get changed out of my biking togs on arrival, as I do now.
Also, the major change of things here, which has really been keeping me busy, is that I have finally got the new choir up & running. The major challenge now, though, is keeping it running. At the first rehearsal, when I took the plunge, I was expecting about 8, but hoping for 10. With the Hall Rental being £15 / hour, for 2 hours, I was concerned as to whether or not there would be enough there to cover the cost (I decided on £3 each, on the basis of £30 / 10). In actual fact, 23 turned up. At the following rehearsal there were about 28 - 30. However, by this time there was starting to be a bit of dissent about the pieces we were doing, although much as I asked for input, I wasn't getting any. Eventually, Bo (a friend from FaceBook, who is a born organiser) & I got together & came up with a list of potential pieces to put to the members to vote on. In this way we could come up with a repertoire that the majority could agree on. The problem is, though, that on the night in question, it was peeing down, and only about 12 turned up. I'm really hoping it was just a case of the weather & not a matter of the novelty wearing off. We did, however, acquire the services of a pianist who plays for the church so, as a result, we also got the use of the church keyboard. Only time will tell if things get sufficiently established for the longer term.
So, all in all, the past couple of months have been manic. I've taken this week off, as I've got my assessment on Wednesday (although I'm permitted to take any time I like off now for employment search related activities), and I'm taking Marcus for his 1000km (nearer to 2000km since booking him in, though) service on Thursday, and I've got another appointment at the Autism clinic on Friday (which I could also get time off for), so I just decided to take the whole week off on leave, as I also need some time to chill out a bit.

Hey FourPart !!!!! Welcome back me owd mucker ! You've had us all a bit concerned, knowing that you had a motorcycle an all ! So glad you're OK, and maybe you were nudged into coming online by a certain Bryn Mawr email ? Anyway, you take it steady, it looks like you've had a hectic time of it all round. I'm so sorry you've been made redundant and I wish you all the best with securing another post. Keep smiling !

Sorry to hear about the redundancy but I wish you the best of luck with your assessment. Stay calm if you can, I know it's hard, maybe for now you should keep FG as your constant as we're not going anywhere :-6

Glad you're back, FourPart! We were all a bit worried about you. Seems like you've been having a tough time of it, bud.
Why oh why do companies lie about re-employment? They're all the ruddy same; say one thing, mean another....Hope the choir goes well for you, you deserve something to go right.
Good luck with securing a new job! Keep on truckin'-sorry, biking!:-6
Congrats on passing the theory test! Good luck getting the full license; go for it!!

Another positive outcome is that whilst updating my CV details on LinkedIn, as I was putting in the background of an Industrial Flooring company I used to work for (twice), a name of a nearby Screeding / Flooring company popped up, with the name of its founder as being that of my former General Manager there. Curious as to whether it was the same person or not, I left an email on their online form. No answer. I sent him a message via LinkedIn. No answer. Eventually I found the phone number & gave the company a call. When I got a reply, I went on to say something like "I don't know if I'm on the right track here or not, but I came across a ....", to which I got a rather startling response of "No. I don't f...ing know who he is. I don't f...ing know who you are, and I certainly don't to f...ing talk to you". Shaken, I went on to apologise, saying that I was only trying to look up an old friend. To which he suddenly started laughing & said "Calm down, Jerry. Can't you tell I'm f..ing winding you up?". To which I gave him a mouthful, calling him a right git (to put it politely) . Obviously it was him, and he hadn't changed a bit - a total joker.
This, incidentally was the one who had arranged to have an office built in the corner of the factory floor in exactly the way I wanted it. The one who made sure that I received full pay for the weeks I had to take off sick every month, whenever I had a seizure. The one who asked me back after my fixed term employment had ended, and the one who asked me to go work for them after the company relocated, at that time outside of my commutable distance. A brilliant person to work for, and now that I've tracked him down, he's also promised me a glowing reference. I suppose there is also the possibility of his being able to give me a job in his company, but I wouldn't want to put him on the spot - although if he were to offer...

Fingers crossed, FourPart. Sounds like a good chap to work for, anyway. Hope he comes good on the reference; it'll certainly help. Be even better if he offers you a job!
