A Muslim teenager built a simple clock out of electronic components and took it to show his engineering teacher at school — but he was arrested when another teacher thought it looked like a bomb and alerted administrators.

Police in Irving, Texas, never suspected the device was an explosive device and did not alert the bomb squad, but they still arrested 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed because he could offer no “broader explanation for his clock besides describing it as a device that measures time.

While I think the school over-reacted, there have been terrible, deadly incidents on high school campuses, & a recent upsurge in young muslim Americans wishing to fly to Syria & join ISIS or commit acts of jihad in the country. After a murderer is arrested, many times neighbors, friends, etc. express shock & say what a nice fellow he seemed to be.

A talk with the principal & science teacher with the student should have been enough, but I don't think it's bad the student was questioned about his device. Anyway, what do you folks expect? It was TEXAS!!!!

Now the police are saying that they knew it wasn't a bomb before they arrested him at the school. They are calling it a "hoax bomb".

Personally methinks the lone (mainly white it sems ) nutter walking in to school with an assault rifle is a bigger problem in america.

When I first read about this I wasn't shocked to see all the hype about the boy being a Muslim and that lump which occupies the White House eager to jump in on it.

I am not a big fan of Bill Mahr but I really liked this segment of his show.

Observations by Mark Cuban when the sixth teacher saw it had concerns and the boy would not respond. Fact that just 25 miles away in Garland, TX Muslim men open fired on citizens for exercising a Constitutional Right.

George Pataki's comment on zero tolerance. (reminded me of boy suspended for chewing his Pop-Tart to look like a gun).

The sister of the boy who brought a suspected hoax-bomb to his Texas high school said she was suspended from a school in a prior bomb scare. Her suspension occurred in 2009 while she was attending middle school in the same district.

Blimey !! They are all at it..................

Personally, I wouldn't accept anything Breitbart or WND reports as "news" without verifying it with a source that did not have such a record of distortion and fabrication.
